With soccer, Greece 2-2 Korea and Australia 1-1 Tunisia I actually don't like soccer (football)at the Olympics. If they are not the best of the best then they should not be there. Just my 2 cents. Mind you I suppose the same argument could be levelled against boxing which I like *confused*
oh then never mind ![]() |

I will be watching the wrestling. Rulon Gardner will get his second gold medal, you watch. I am sending elite gibbies to make sure...Umm...did I just say that out loud? I mean I hope he wins....

I'm watching the Olympics right now, and I have to say, it's interesting. Not my kind of events are on at the moment (wrestling, basketball, and soccer), but it's not too bad.
I'll be rooting for the good USA, but I wouldn't mind seeing Italy or the UK winning a few. |

First the USA baseball team fails to qualify then the USA basketball team gets beat by Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico had beaten the United States "Dream Team" basketballers 92-73 in one of the biggest shocks in the history of the Olympic Games. NBA superstars Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson and LeBron James were humiliated by a team they had beaten 96-71 just over two weeks ago in Florida. Both sides are in Australia's group in the men's basketball competition. It was the first defeat in 25 games for the United States since NBA talent including Michael Jordan began playing for them in Olympic competition at the 1992 Barcelona Games. from the ABC (aus)

I really dislike the olympics......
Basically, because Christiano Ronaldo and Heinz are away playing for their countries, and they missed the opening game of the season today.....which we got beat in. We're 9 first team players down, and those two could of helped. Gutted. Remove the football, and the olympics will be fine with me! [ 08-15-2004, 08:49 PM: Message edited by: Lavindathar ]

![]() ![]() Looks like the Dream Team can't score unless they dunk the ball. Showboating and hangtime have really made basic TEAM basketball skills go to waste - like passing to open teammates, defending as a TEAM, and hitting open jumpshots. They seriously looked like muppets out there, getting manhandled by a minnow. What's even more disgraceful is the amount of no shows - there should be nothing more important than representing your country. Obviously not for a few of these multimillionaires, eh. You've got to at least give credit to these fellas for turning up. Then again, the OZ aren't doing much better - but at least all our blokes fronted up ![]() [ 08-16-2004, 06:53 AM: Message edited by: Memnoch ] |
