Ah, I remember that topic. I posted there as well...I missed out Iria in my previous list...well, I guess it doesn't matter. What I find frustrating is the lack of anime in the UK. Virtually all of the anime I've seen have been at my cousin's in Germany, apart from a select few. You should see it over there! The anime stores are incredible! They have everything!

Anime

Neo Genesis Evangelion- very good. Has more than just fighting.
Read or Die- Quite cool, nice plot twistiness.
Macross Plus- Good, some emotional bits too
Those Who Hunt Elves- funny, if somewhat satirical. Pokes at other anime in the jokes.
Princess Mononoke- Action packed AND big named.
Akira- God of Anime

Manga

Gon- Old, wordless, funny
Appleseed- Better than the movie
Record of the Lodoss War- Only read a few, but it is good.
Cannon God ExaXxion- New and decent.
Battle Angel Alita- I love it! Really good incase I didn't make it clear.
