Wurm, she has had several "incidents" in the past, and that's why I find it hard to write of the "intent" issue of her bringing scissors to the store. It is, of course, completely possible she always carries them, and that it was just coincidence, but it seems doubtful. Of course, the jury had access to information I didn't have, so I'll "questioningly" defer to their judgement.

secondly the prosecution's motive was that she was just thrill seeking. She has loads of money and $5000 worth of merchandise would be nothing for her to purchase. I guess she just needs to find a new way to get her kicks

I saw some of the video film of her shoplifting incident. She came into the store with a big handbag, empty, which mysteriously got filled LOL later on, and she left out with bulging bags all over, she even dropped them at one point (guess the loot got heavy), then I saw a clip of her crouched down on the floor near a clothes rack stuffing stuff into a hat.?? Mind you, these film clips were really short and not probably in any order, so my perceptions could be wrong. She sure looked guilty to me though LOL! Maybe she has a mental problem, yes cleptomania or something, as I figure she has plenty of dough, she could buy anything she wanted.!

I was thinking the same, she could have argued not guilty due to mental defect, she shoud start seeing a therapist at any rate.

Yesterday the prosecutor said she would not ask for jail time for Wynona Ryder. She said the punishment for this crime for a first time offender was punished with probation, community service, and restitution.
