I'm afraid I have nothing handy to back it up with; I just remember being really surprised when I discovered a few authors claiming this when I was still at university.

A quick glance at a few wikipedia pages (History of the jews in xxxx) seem to follow a common thread in that things took a dip in the 1930s. Iraq was a particular example I remember where Jews were well represented in society in the first quarter of the century.

I wasn't talking about you, just in general, sometimes when people believe in a religon they close up to the posibility that there could be someone else who believes in something completly different and they may be right. That is why we have people fighting religous wars.
