This is not true. They gave Bush 5 year's worth of freebie passes on a number of things that you had to find out by reading Al Franken or watching John Stewart. Yet, they repeat and report on every half-baked rumor spat out by the cockamemey psuedo-news right wingnut papers in D.C. and New York.

Media goes with what sells, and no one wants to hear or read "whiney liberal bullshit" these days. So, O'Reilley, Hannity, Coulter and Limbaugh continue to be huge media successes, while the only guy who gets to do leftie humor is J. Stewart, who rocks under any analysis because he snipes indiscriminately at everyone.

Only recently, since people have started to wake up and realize that this country is being horribly mismanaged, and only since real smoking gun scandals have surfaced, and since -- most importantly -- the approval ratings have fallen to a dismal 39%, only now do you see the media sharks circling the Red Sweater and Red Tie Brigade.

Anyway, long but the point being that the Left Wing Media is a myth. They report what people want to hear, because they have a product to sell.

And, it's 5 years too late if you ask me. The moment we should have been screaming for impeachment was the moment Bush mistook Iraq for Afghanistan on a map. "Oooooh, you meant the country to the East of Iran, not the West? Sorry." But, we were too caught up in bloodlust, and much too unwilling to do a bit of thinking for ourselves.

Enjoy.

"As a Senator, took the initiative in creating"

-means, to any edumacated person -

"Passed legislation providing funding for."

Which is absolutely 100% correctamundo. And is nowhere near "invented."
Tanks TL, I have read some of what that article referenced in many other places and such. What I have not seen before was that it was made to be he laid claim to ARPANET. Which we all (In the know) know as the DOD "Internet", but again, that was only used by the DOD. So your article clearly now points that the ARPANET (which to me, as a liftime member of DOD) is the internet, was not even initiated by the former congressman. Geez, talk about the use of a clumsy word, or phrase, he really over did it on that one.
I would like to make it clear that though I support Bush on a number of issues does not mean I agree with him on all that he does. Having said that...

Sorry TL, but to say the Liberal Left Media is a myth doesn't hold ground. Since when in the last 5 years has the L.A. or N.Y. Times ever supported Bush on anything? How about Dan Rather and the CBS fiasco? Are you going to tell me that Chris Matthews, Wolf Blitzer, and Colmes are centrists?! Bush was hated right from the start ever since the miasma of the 2000 election and just look at what the media put forth prior to the 2004 elections. Even MSNBC and CNN reported *after* the elections that there was considerable more negative reporting on Bush than Kerry. I suggest you look up UCLA's latest study on the media in the U.S. and their latest conclusion is that the majority of the media leans to the left. And suprise, suprise they saw Fox as falling in the middle. This report suprised me because U.C.L.A. is a liberal institution.

To imply that we're too caught up in bloodlust and that we are unwilling to do a bit of thinking for ourselves is to make an extremely broad generalization that has no basis in fact. How do you know we aren't thinking for ourselves? How do you know we are caught up in bloodlust?

How do I know we were caught up in bloodlust? Obviously you don't recall the time. We all were. Everyone I know wanted something bombed, and now, right now. I came on this site at the time and pointed out that the attitude here was that everyone wanted to see some "ragheads" dead. As a matter of ract, I had to do a lot of explaining as to what I meant about that, but it accurately represented our country's attitude at the time.

Look, I've read my sources and you've read yours. I believe I have read well researched articles indicating the press has attacked the left much more than the right over the past 10-15 years. If you think there are a lot of negative articles about Bush, you should go read mid 1990's articles on Clinton. The press hated him waaaaayyyyy more than they dislike Bush.

You saw Felix and I exchange posts on the Gore "invented the internet" thing. The press ate him for lunch on that. Any reason why Bush was basically given a pass on all his mistatement, mispronunciations, and possible real issues like lack of military service and alcoholism, DUIs, and drug use? I'll tell you why, he was more interesting than wooden Al, and sold better. So, Fox News cooked up "research" that absolved Bush of all sins and the NY Times and W. Post lifted their text and placed it in articles. Completely gave him a pass. Media spent more time explainifying for him than they did persecuting him. Al, on the other hand, makes a mostly true statement about how he was a big proponent of developing the internet, and the crucify him.

Look, anyone who decided Fox News is in the center is as dumb as someone who argues Sierra Club is in the center. Fox News a far right, Christian based, conservative big government, ra ra Republican News. That's it, all you have to do is watch it to know. Colmes??? Whay would anyone mention him??? Oh you mean that show HANNITY and colmes? Where colmes sits on HANNITY'S knee and talks when he's allowed?? colmes is a meek moderate centrist, and just because HANNITY says he's a lefty doesn't mean you should believe that crap. colmes actually has a second job at Fox News, cleaning the bathrooms at night, and fluffing HANNITY'S pillow.
