Feeling uncomfortable is a far cry from being executed which your reference to ethnic cleansing refered....I think you chose poorly in your comparisons..

On the other hand I don't think they could have felt any more uncomfortable than I have been made to feel on here from time to time...both as an American and as a Conservative.

Edit: But thanks for filling me in on what happened...I had seen references to them leaving but didn't know what the scoop was.

Yeah it had to do with the Kosher issue but the article also documented rising crimes against Jews.....as I pointed out to Grojlach, you should be able to find the article I posted referencing this issue.

Sir T - You're right about Chirac. He's trying to be the next DeGaulle of France and he definitely sees himself as wanting to lead the EU as a counterweight to the US.

Unfortunately, I think that kind of attitude upsets the Brits and some of the Eastern European countries who still have their own problems.

I can give an example of the recent rise of anti-semitism in Austria, here.]http://www.tau.ac.il/Anti-Semitism/updates/i99018.html]here. It was picked up in newspapers over here in 2000, and I saw photos in the WSJ of anti-semetic billboards over there. This isn't a law, but it is a reference to people futzing around with the jews, and it is nonetheless definately NOT kosher. So, schlep on over to the link and check it out.

So should I interpret this to mean "Im too damn lazy to look it up for myself so I'll just call him a liar"? or are you saying that the search function does not work for you?

Edit: I did post at least one article about it. There was a debate and much poo pooing the issue.

Thanks for even more articles and links TL and Sir-T but jeez why can't they do their own serches instead of intimating that someone is being dishonest?
