Hm..i've heard the Pope has made a statement about rock&roll, and how he regards it as a tool of anti religeon. And here i was thinking that it was just another conservative old geezer. I was wrong, it's a conservative moron. Bono and U2 have done much MUCH more for Africa in their relative short existance than the Vatican has ever done in their entire history.

Papa Ratzi.

I'm with johnny 100% when it comes to Ratzinger. Is it just me or does this guy have a really creepy smile ? It looks sinster. The gap between this out-dated and extemely rigid Catholic Chuch and the rest of the world is only going to widen under his papacy. Despite his age, Ratzinger is currently in good health and could reign for 10-15 years.

If you're homophobic and ignorant to the fact that millions of people are dying in Africa beacause of aids, maybe you should be.

If a style of music is anti-establishment, it is by inclusion, anti-Roman Catholic Church, as it's part of the established order of things. It's a fair call.

If they reduce a woman to being merely buts, boobs or holes, they are being anti-religious.

It's a fair call. It's a fair comment about the values being preached and reinforced by art and society right now.

No, they're not. Anti-Catholic, perhaps. Not anti-religious.
Even though catholicism isn't really one to talk about issues like the treatment of women and materialism - never mind what they preach, history has shown a certain level of hypocrisy in the Catholic church regarding these subjects, whatever way you turn it.

By the way, just in case you weren't aware of it yet - there's a moratorium instated on any deep religious discussion on this forum, most notably the kind that ends in "is not/are too" banter that you'll get when someone's firm belief system (often with little to no room for compromise) is being questioned. Just a heads up, as there's a certain theme to your posts so far that might tend into the direction of a violation of that moratorium in the longer run.
