I'm not being flippant with that either. While ostensibly, every life holds the same value. But the fact is, the lives of my family are more important than your life is ..... to me. To me, you, and most people on this board are just names, and some of you faces. My family and friends are people however.

That still doesn't excuse the fact that Timber Loftis doesn't seem to give a sh*t about how many Iraqis are killed, while not wanting to risk a single American life. I can only conclude that Timber thinks 1 American life is more important than hundreds (if not thousands) of Iraqis. Why?

You may think I am condraticting myself, but I am not. I am expressing a paradox, a conumdrum. All life is created equal, except that which is important to me.

The lives of my fiance, and baby are far more important to me than anyone else alive. Included are the lives of my Mother, Brother, Cousins, and friends. If I had to choose between their lives and the life of anyone else, I'd choose them any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

More dircectly put, (and this is nothing personal) if I was given the choice between the execution of your life and the life of my baby, I choose you with out even thinking.

Like I said, all life is equally important, except those that are important to me.

So .... extrapolating all the way up to the National level, yes, Americans would tend to value American lives more than those of other citizens. They ain't us.

And you won't really understand the meaning of that until you have someone in your life that means more than life itself.
