Heh, LOL Cerek, did you do that on purpose?

"Involuntary and wrongful *interment*" - shouldn't that be internment, or am I full of marsh gas? Still kind of fits, though.

If I'm wrong, *bury* me in shame

LOL what a typo Cerek..I hope they didn't inter the poor guyy.

Ahem!!! Ok serious Cerek...do you ACTUALLY think that sucking tax dollars away from hospitals and schools will actually make some low level civil servent give a rats behind about how careful he is? I think you may be mistaken if so....have you been around any civil servents lately?

Yes I say give him a check for the average of what his wages were probably going to be, add a bit on top as a kicker and maybe add some jobs training....that still won't run you into the multiple millions..will he be pissed off...sure he will so would I....however...mistakes happen and orphans, hospitals and schools shouldn't loose their resources to fund his anger apeasment.

Alright we got some cash, some "hookers", job training, how about some whiskey? I'd say some cigarettes also but I don't want the wrath of the anti-smoking crowd to come down on this poor guy.

disagree. it has been shown that in locations where all citizens are required to carry a handgun that the level of violent crime actually decreases.
You need to spend more time here!!

BTW - I suppose it's pointless to ask you to provide proof of your assertions.

One question - would you rather be mugged twice or murdered once?

Just to clarify. If you were offered ten times the amount of money you currently earn you would choose to spend 18 years in prison?

Why is money so important? What price freedom?

Not sure why this question is aimed at me...I didn't say it was a good thing he was imprisioned, I didn't say he should be happy. I said that he should be compensated by the state (ie. tax payers) a sum that at least replaces the money he would have possibly earned in order to assist him in reintegrating into society AND he should also be able to receive some assistance in the way of job training and placement and that we should NOT bankrupt the state (which pays for all those other social programs so vital to peoples existance). You cannot return the mans life to him, so that is a pointless discussion. All you can do is try to help him move forward.....You know I know too many people in real life who can't move forward..they are stuck continually in the past...and they are quite a miserable lot...but thats not the point..the point is....he needs money to get on with his life....does that answer your question?

Isn't the chance of you getting killed higher when you carry a weapon?

How are you planning on letting potential criminals know you carry a weapon? Going to print it on a t-shirt
