In all honesty once I hit saintly status for light master, I normally cast Armageddon on purpose to go to notorious.

Important point in that game...always go for saintly reputation first.

I was able to go from saintly to notorious in three easy steps without having to kill *anything*!

Here's how:

Step 1: Go to a temple of Baa and donate about ten times. That should bring you to a level below Average.

Step 2: Go to Castle Kriegspire and talk to the.. Guardian, I think it is. Accept his help / offer, and you'll drop down a couple more levels.

Step 3: Go to Bootleg Bay and pick up all those bones you've been leaving there. Teleport to Free Haven (the Rockport suburb, actually) and turn them in. You'll be notorious in about five minutes, depending on your beacons.

'Course, if you haven't set beacons in Kriegspire and Bootleg Bay, it will be far more difficult...

since we are talking about the M&M series, I just have to ask... have someone ever played M&M9 ??... a have almost played through 6,7,8 and 9. but have never completed the last Q`s , don`t know why, and can`t even remember what quests remained.... but what do you guys think about M&M9?? cause that game is just....strange! I saw it for the first time with a friend but it took me 15 minutes to recognize that it was a M&M game!!! thought it was a bad and newer game that was based on M&M but looked like shit!.... but still i couldn`t resist to play... cause if one is a M&M fan, then you will always be one....!

why don`t 3do make an M&M 10 ?? or why don`t they try to make m&m 6,7,8 and 9 with same rules but better graphics, and same story but with better movements and maybe they should try to make an expansion pack?!.-...... does anyone have something to say about this ? or do you just think i`m a complete moron? or both?

well, as 3D0 doesn't exist anymore, that won't be possible. however, you'd do well to check out the upcoming M&M Tribute game!! it's gonna be great

if anyone's an old-timer, you'll recognize most of the fan/developers who are designing this.

As the lovely Vesselle has pointed out, 3DO exists no more. So sadly, they won't be putting out MM10.

However, someone (was it EA?) acquired the rights to the MM series in a fire sale, and the possibility exists that someone else may bring out an MM10 game. We can only hope.... and I say that because MM1 was my first CRPG, and you never forget your first

There's still a whole lot of support out there from the old 3DO communities... folks like DaveO, Ribannah, Flamestryke, CoolJerk, and more. TELP is still out there (www.telp.org), and they've got sections for M7-9. They reference MM6 in passing, but there's still stuff available (and it's what I'm playing right now, as the thread title shows... I'm getting ready for the Castle Darkmoor grind).

And if you have questions, feel free to ask them in here as well. I know there are a few other MM fans who hang out around here as well

I'm looking forward to the MM Tribute as well. Things like Gray Magic that Ribannah and folks have developed are just fantastic from this gamer's perspective

You can buy it online... and there were several compilations that included MM6-9 or MM6-8. I believe Amazon has it, among others.

It should be fairly inexpensive.

On a side note, I completed Darkmoor last night. It ended up being far less painful than I remembered... I was able to "herd" the eyes and liches to come into narrow doorways in many of the areas, and even the final castle-within-a-castle section was pretty easy. I used a new technique (for me, at least)...

Basically, when I went up the outside ramp, I stopped right in the corner leading to the huge room and hopped onto the ledge. A number of eyes and liches woke up and attacked, but by casting Inferno I was able to damage most of them every time. The cleric cast Destroy Undead on the various liches to knock them out. And if any eyes grouped together, a dragonbreath or two took care of them. Even the lich king was easy... several destroy undeads, and he was gone.

My party (KDCS) is level 70, and had used the 30-level well (and I'm going to have to clean out those drakes soon!). The only time I had to take a break was when I ran out of mana...

*Sniff* The game's almost over, though. Just Hermit Isle and SweetWater to go, followed by the pyramid and control center. It's been enjoyable, just the same...

I know the feeling, Bakrus. Heck, in MM1 there was a question that you couldn't answer with anything in the game, AFAIK... Og's question. I remember figuring out where you had to go to find the answer, and a friend's wife grabbing their video collection, watching a particular episode of Star Trek, and giving me the answer. Now *that* was fun!

Out here, you'll find that Vesselle and Kakero, in addition to me, are MM fans. I know there are others, and I apologize to you all, but they're the other ones who stick in my mind right now. Heck... MM is even in the logo for the Misc Games forum -- a true sign of recognition if there ever was one

BTW, I cleared out the land portion of Hermit Isle last night. Lots of ICBM spellcasting, and I'm ready to go to the seas and island next. Thanks to the randomness of the game, my tank is wielding dual Excaliburs (one from the stone and one from random treasure), and my sorcerer is wielding dual Mordreds (or is it Morgans?) -- one from the Keep, and one from random treasure. My biggest challenge is running out of inventory space...
