I absolutly agree, theres a really long list of games I've bought that I ended up disliking. Whats the difference? Pretty much zero except you have to cancell your account which takes all of 5 minutes. I used to say I'd never pay for an online game until I acually tried one, and ended up loving it. I met some great people of all ages, a lot of whom I play with now on Dark Ages of Camelot. We are all going to make the leap to WoW (sorry Hark). And yep I'm a power gamer, which might be a bit misunderstood. It doesnt mean your a jerk, it means your there to lvl up just like any other game. I know exactly how to do it and yep it takes some time. Just like any other game, just thiese game your doing with friends who can be a lot of help. Many higher lvl epics cant be done without help. You dont have Minsc with his hamster helping, you have real people. And it can be fun as hell. Sometimes a grind, sometimes your adrenelline is pumping. If you havent at least tried then you should, you'll have a good time. On EQ2 or WoW (new ones) or any of the older games out. Lady Blue what server?
my mistake.. .. i guess it depends on the personality of the powergamer that is in question. point taken.

everyone is going to WOW .. booo.. (j/k)

Because it is. It look like Might and Magic... Those were fun but the engine wasn't improved since the 4th or so...

I honestly see nothing nice in those screenshots.

Maybe if I have the time time to re setup my isp webspace I'll compare those screenshots to those I took of other MMORPGs.

Ok, my photoshop has it's colors messed up for some reason, but I found user's submited screenshots on the net, and I've seen equal or better quality while playing L2 and WoW. I didn't try Guildwars, but those seem possible. I know I could get that quality from my computer.

World of Warcraft Screenshot 1
World of Warcraft Screenshot 2
World of Warcraft Screenshot 3
World of Warcraft Screenshot 4

Lineage 2 Screenshot 1
Lineage 2 Screenshot 2
Lineage 2 Screenshot 3

Guildwars Screenshot 1
Guildwars Screenshot 2
Guildwars Screenshot 3

Don't you see what I mean? Everquest 2 look like 2d models in a semi 3d baren landscape. I would expect graphics like that from a 4-5 years old game.

Edit: Even the perspective is terrible. It look like some kid found photoshop and pasted some random image of characters on a 3d landscape.

well this came from a beta player mate.. i didnt think he would exactly be posting the best pics out there plus his video card is just as good as mine. (in short: my video card sucks ) i must admit some of those screen shots of those MMORPG like WOW are pretty cool but still too cartoonic for me (personal opinion). ***deleted some words here***

now here are some good comparisons of what you have posted with people having better video cards. Isnt this better?

and a few more screenshots

okay okay.. ill stop now..

to be honest.. it all depends on the user and his video card. .

There are size difference in WOW too, but wow... extreme... What's that little thing down there?

Those graphics are better, certainly more up to date with current tech, but personally I still don't like them. Because they are trying too much to be realistic, and it's impossible, so they're just making even more obvious that they aren't.

I don't understand why companies do that. It remind me of the Street Fighter: The movie : The arcade game, it had the real actors as models. I never liked that. If they ever do make a game with real actors, I'll never play that game. I'm trying to have a little entertainment outside of our reality for awhile, not play in a copy of our world.
