Anyone?
I haven't been killed since the first time I did it and I was so busy laughing my head off I couldn't see what I was doing!

The cows aren't hard to kill, you have to run away and get them a few at a time instead of a herd... they overrun you that way.
Lead them away and pluck away at them, they will die, and the stuff you get is so-so, but the experience points are always useful!

Hmmm, re the Amazon? I can see the bow being very handy, but what about those times when you get rushed by the crowd and can't get out? Or like the Boss from Chapter 2 where you don't have much running around room? Does the bow still hit even if a monster is right up on you?

Nope, haven't done the cow level YET LOL. For some odd reason I decided to try all of the characters at the same time, and move them one by one through each chapter. I almost have all of them finished with Chapter 2 (except the Sorceress who I just can't for the life of me get her to defeat the Ch. 2 bossbug) So it's slow going getting further into the game this way, but I am getting to know all the characters and their abilities pretty well! I also occasionally *cough* play at work, just one character, a Barbarian, whose on Chapter 4 now. Unfortunately I don't have the Expansion Pack at work, so am stuck with the original DiabloII (hate the small chest inventory like a big dog!!!)

Oh and I love the Assassin! Wake of Fire rocks! [/QB]
Unlike BG... no penalties for using a bow in close range. You can do it and it is effective. Some abilities are multi arrow and strafe that basically take the aim out and just shoot at whatever is around. Kick butt!! (The main reason I love the Amazon is for those little monsters that leap, run and generally don't stay put... much easier with a bow or Javelin to take them out.)

Chap 2 with Sorceress... try the cold spells and let your merc take him out. Cold is the most useful with Sorc, because they aren't attacking if they are frozen.

I am doing your thing now with taking all my characters a little at a time through the game. I get bored with one and play another.

The assassin is cool... my new fav. I love throwing daggers with her - and claws... man, some of those martial arts ROCK!

When you get to the Secret Cow Level... try to keep a straight face. It is the only way to beat those moo moos.

Thanks for the info, I will keep that in mind with my Amazon. She is next and last to move up through Chapter 2, and I so far have upped her spear skills, cause I just like forkin people LOL, but if the bow works better, I can switch her over LOL

Oh, and the thing that sucks with my current Sorceress, is that I mostly have gone for the "up mostly ONE area big time" theory. So my sorceress has a huge lightning ability, which clears out everything in her path mostly, is great!, is wonderful, err, except for that nasty beatleboss, lightning doesn't seem to move his hitpoint bar down much at all. And so, hence, she is very unskilled in cold defense, might have a Level One in Icebolt maybe, but that's about it. Imagine how much work and effort it would take to keep levelling her up to get to a decent cold spell level? Normally, if I was just playing with one character, I'd just replay areas again and again, to level her up, but doing it the way I'm doing it, i.e., playing each character (what is there? six or seven of them in Expansion Pack) through each chapter one by one, I've kinda been there done that a humongous amount of times, ack.

Oh and in all my games everyone of course has Wirt's Leg, so cow level will be inevitable soon LOL, am so curious to see what it is all about, some say it is funny, some say it is so hard and they hated it, hope I'm one of the former once I get there LOL !

No don't keep Wirt's Leg yet LadyZ it's a waste of space... you can just redo the tristram part since now the portal is always open.. or you can do the quest in NM and get his Leg and then Proceed to Cow Level...

As for the Sorcy, the main thing that can actually fry Duriel is Blaze. I mean it may not be as quick as you think, but she will live long enough to withstand any hits by him... Try going for Static Field, but then he is a hard hitter and you wouldn't want to get hit by him. The Merc is there for bait

I don't like Bowazons... I want either a Tankazon or a Spearazon.. even a Javazon Assassins really rock.. but then (I hate their short hair LOL)

Cow Level is great... I love Whirlwinding over the Lot of em... and to keep the portal open just don't kill the Cow King (No patch for it yet) and that is endless fun of MOOMOOS!!!!

Honestly, it depends on whether you are comfortable with range weapons... I don't like getting hit unless I am going to give it back threefold! I do like melee, that is all you can do with a Paladin or Barbarian - but they do it well.

A lot depends on your playing style - but change of pace, I will try different ways to kill monsters just to see what it is like. Bahamut made great suggestions for your sorc... the mass destruction is SO helpful!

Enjoy your games... and the Cow Level has got to be the funniest thing in there.

Charean since you play assy.. I just love it what she says to Blood Raven after she killed her... "What I kill, stays dead."

Be careful with the cows! Crowd control keep that in mind... now you wouldn't wanna die in the comedy part of the whole game!

You got that right!! That cracked me up the first time I heard that!!

And you are right on the crowd control. RudeDawg did the Cow Level for the first time yesterday - LOL - his barbarian took them out pretty easily. I forgot how funny that level really is. Lady Z.... you will ROLL!!! Just don't get killed!

Charean - Well I've heard a lot of praise for the humor in this Cow Level, can't wait to actually see it !!

Well thing is, as you know if you are doing the same thing as me, i.e, moving each character one by one through each chapter at the same time. You do the same chapter over and over again!! So to get those cold spells for my current Sorceress, I'd have to take her back and replay certain areas a bunch of times to get her to level up, and would have to do this how many times? What cold spell level would you say would beat the Ch. 2 boss do you think?

Blah, been playing my Druid tonight, he's all done with everything, ready to hit the Ch. 2 boss now, but it's too late to give it a shot, will go for it tomorrow. Forget the dogs when I go for the boss tomorow, I doubt I'll have time to even cast them before he hits me and freezes me. Just gonna morph into a werebear and hope I can get him! Do you notice how in some dungeons those stupid dogs (ok wolves) that you summon don't go for the monsters until you get near the monsters? That really sucks, it's like "go get em fido! Why are you standing there???" Really sucks when dealing with those static charged shamans in the Tal Rasha Tombs!

Static.. charhged? Or are those the lightning enchanted freaks?

Anyways what level is your Sorcy? You remember what I told you about the Players 8 thing? this will boost your exp like hell.. levelling up is a breeze.. but then remember there are diminishing returns when you are already levels higher than the monsters you face... so when you reach around level 28-30 it's gonna be pretty slow (I had my Barb reach level 30... what a drag.. but then I was Whirlwinding on Act III )

It's fun to experiment and all that... so juz ask us questions and we are gonna answer them! heeheehee

I bow to Bahamut the master....

lady Z - Sorc - For the act 2 boss, have your merc get in there for a distraction, and the minions will come out a few at a time - take them out with whatever is most effective for you. Then go in when he is alone (of course you are totally stocked on potions, and rejuvenation is INSTANT, unlike the red juice that takes a few seconds to go up) and do your lightening if that is what you are proficient with.

Alternatives are if you want fire or ice, look for a staff that has those abilities for sale... great boost there. Whatever he uses the most of (I forget at the moment, but I believe it is fire) boost your resistance with an amulet or ring - you can make them in your cube with a combination of gems and jewelry.

http://www.planetdiablo.com/diablo2/items/questitems/
will give you some good recipes for the cube.
