You don't have tribunal right?

Also, your sure you have the european version right?

Other then that, have you tried a reinstall, then tried patching the game?

I have the British version, which I count as European due to the official site saying that the othe patch was for Americans, Australians and European collector's editions

Ok, my next question was going to be to see if you have the deluxe (collectors) addition which uses the NA patch, but I assume you checked that if you looked on the main site.

Hmm, well you might try defragging your hard drive. I personally don't think it'll help, but its worth a shot.

kB= 1000 bytes (1024, more precisely)
kb= 1024 bits (binary digits, 1 byte = 8 bits)
Kb or KB don't exist
MB= 1024 kilobytes
mB= would be 1/1000 (0.001) bytes, but that doesn't really exist

I was actually thinking if you did it again it might help the patch not installing problem.

I think that the crashing problem will be helped by killing anything running in the background before you start the game, it did wonders for me (then again I also ~doubled my ram after I did this, so that might have done it, I assume the 1GB I stated with was enough however) with my crashing problem.

The other thing you might try regarding crashing is to turn the "fog" option (or whatever its called) closer, or drop your resolution a notch.

You forgot our good friend Mb, the megabit, which is actually used (eg 10Mb ethernet cards). And also K which was the same as kB (I still remember my C64 telling me it had 64K of ram.)
Also, Kb and KB are generally considered acceptable substitues for anyone who doesnt do computer related issues for living, but this is not really worth an argument.

Are you kidding? I can play anything on win 2000, much better than xp, less user annoying features.

Yep, I can't install the patch even after re-installing the game, the construction pack, and defragging my drive.

Have you tried redownloading the patch?

You might also want to scan for viruses (and update your virus software). This is one of the clasical signs that there is a virus on your computer.
