Kendel 75/81
One would think that when a spell of Haste wore off a person, that the advantage would be lost as well...but that is not always the case. The course of battle relies on perception in many cases. The drow charged Kendel, aiming for his chest. Kendel had engaged the drow in battle when the drow had been enchanted with the haste spell, and had a feel for the speed rate of his enemy. When Kendel saw the drow aiming to charge him down with speed and power, Kendel knew that he could easily block the attack and counter with a simple spin and stab. However, one unforeseen variable was put into play. While Kynnel was running toward Kendel, the Haste spell lost effect and Kennel slowed down to normal speed for a drow. Kendel however had not noticed the change and was so wrapped up in his readiness for the super-fast counter-movement that he actually dodged and spun too soon. His calculations were off as to when the drow would have reached him, so when Kendel went into his retaliative move, the drow had not yet come into target. Kendel did not realize the mistake in perception until he had a halberd cut into his arm, turning him around with its impact and continuing to slice across his back, gashing him well. He fell to the floor, dropping his sword. Kendel has suffered 12 HP damage. Drow has the initiative. |

The mage Andrion has cast Flesh to Stone at the Owl, commonly known as Plaxica.
Anyone looking in the direction of the owl or the mirrored images would see a glimmering human-like shape, and the mirrored images are all mimicking the exact movements of their owner, casting a spell. The voice is coming from but one location...the shimmering light. When the mirrored images stopped moving their arms, the shimmering figure vanished again. Nothing seemed to have occured after the spell's completion. ie. Plaxica made his save vs. the spell, and is unharmed. [ 01-27-2005, 12:05 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Plaxica 16/70
After the mage had completed his spell nothing happened. What had the spell been? Who was it's target? Had someone just been extremely lucky? Putting aside these thoughts and concentrating on the current task Plaxica flapped his wings once and came in a dive with his claws ahead of him at Andrion, slashing and tearing at the mage's stoneskin. |

Andrion Wilgor 60/60
It had not worked. Never had this happened to him before. Yet he did not have the time to muse about why the spell had failed, as he was promptly reminded by the shout of the Inquisitor. And in addition to that the owl was coming in at him again, clearly revealing that the real one of him was not mirrored. Deciding that the time for fun was over and that the real battle had now started Andrion cast his most powerful spell, with his voice resonating throught the hall. "Demoror tempus!" OOC: I probably murdered latin with that single phrase. Did a search on the BG boards and learnt the spells in there are in latin, so tried translating to latin with an online dictionary. |

It was good enough to sound cool in writ.
The Mage Andrion has suffered seven attacks on his armor of Stoneskin. He attemps to cast the spell, known in common tongue as Time Stop. Preparing his mind, he allows all other sounds of distraction to pass by unheard, for he has entered that trance that mages must fall into in order to successfully alter reality and bring about the desired effect. However, this spell has an extended casting time requirement, which means that it will take a considerable amount of time before it can be successfully cast. Any distractions or attacks on the mage will have to be rolled to see if he becomes distracted enough to lose the spell. If he successfully completes the spell, another roll will determine the length of time that the spell holds, using a 1d3. |

Kynnen 67/85
With his target infront of him on the floor, helpless, Kynnen took a short second to look at the crossbowman with a cold look in his eyes. A look that he has when executing someone. He raised his halberd high and let out a shout of anger. As the halberd was making it upwards to be swung, his red eyes briefly changed into two white flashes of light, and then back to their normal color. The unholy divination told him what he needed, and he swung down his weapon at the man below him. OOC: He just used Detect Good, to see who in the room was an kind of good alignment, and then he would use one of his Smite Good abilities against Kendel if he turns out to be any Good alignment.

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98
It did not truely come as much of a surprise. It was rare for the wicked to see wisdom, and realise when the odds had turned against them. More unusual still for them to hope for salvation. They would struggle, in vain, until they were at the brink of death. Only with their bodies spend and the life flowing out of them would they admit the dread they so gleefully spread to enter into their own hearts. A gleam would come over their eyes as they grasped at their one chance to live, and begged for mercy. He had seen it before, he had granted it before. The inquisitor did not break his stride as he checked to ensure the net was properly folded. Seeing it was so, he hurled it at the many mages, and the owl in their midst. The warhammer appeared in his hand not long after. |

High above the fighting, on a crooked floor
Where the forum air is moist, a bright copper orb works brilliant hues into bands of beauty. And as even the most solid of her rainbows ever flees towards the distant horizon, never to be touched by the hand of man for fear it should destroy the work of perfection, so too parts the smoke of the chamber. It flees to the corners, it seeks protection amidst the beams above, huddles against the walls. And with its passing, vision returns to those who watch from the cracked tiles claiming the chamberfloor's center. Tiny lights flicker, their lives now threatened by the winds of motion. Winds summoned forth by the billowing of the robe carried by a well-fed figure. Some had died already, and were not mourned. They had served their purpose now, no longer needing to breathe warmth into the air as would the orb on a summer's day. The ripples dancing on the water surface were dying too, naught but echoes of the great splash that spawned them, yet went unheard outside the chamber. The braziers watched stoically, barely disturbed from their duties. It would take more to extinguish them and they happily spread their perfumes, gifts for the smoke to carry with it as it fled. The robe was as decent as it was rich, in colour and embroidery. Gold thread danced along the edges, writing mystical tales of wonders with patterns both simple and complex. Above, several chins moved as words were formed, and forged into a single voice. "Be welcome, Larry Silverfall. You will excuse us for not opening the door, as we were otherwise occupied. Have you brought a friend?" |

Kynnen brings down the halberd upon the victim, formerly known as Kendel. Now, his friends call him worm food. The blade sliced down as Kendel raised his hands in a shout of fear that his life was about to come to an end. The blade (xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxx)...
and that is how Kendel died. ![]() |

For Marcos vs. Andrion
Marcos swings the heavy net through the air, trying to get it airborne and on top of some of the images of the mage. As he did so, he also hooked Plaxica. The net fell to the ground, passing right through three of the images and settling on the ground, their only victim being the owl. Andrion is still in concentration and has not been disrupted at this time. But a little more time is needed. Viewers of the mage's images proves that he is still in deep concentration. |
