Verrion Sieg 12/12
Verrion extended a few silver pieces to the bartender, intent on paying for his and Drusalia's drinks, but the barkeep just pointed at Aeriah and said that it'd already been taken care of. Turning to Aeriah, Verrion nodded in thanks and motioned toward the door "To the temple, then. Drusalia, what temple is the nearest here? You suggested we go there, so I think you might know." He looked intently into Drusalia's eyes. [ 10-02-2004, 07:28 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ]

Drusalia 11/11
She gracefully stepped off her barstool and started moving towards the exit while talking to Verrion. "I do not know of any temples here, but I think we can ask in the streets." She stepped out of the door, held open for her by a man who was just entering and exited into the street. She looked around and then spotted a passerby who seemed to be a scholar. "Excuse me! Would you know where the nearest temple is?" "There is a temple of Bhaal not too far away." The man then described the way they had to go and after Drusalia thanked him she turned to Verrion. "Ever heard of Bhaal? I don't like the sound of the name." |

No, I cannot say I have heard of Bhaal. The name is... well it makes the hair on my back stand on end, but it's the best chance. Who knows, maybe Bhaal is a god of compassion, love, happiness and that sort of thing." Verrion sure hoped so. [ 10-02-2004, 07:49 PM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ]

She did not have a good feeling about this, but since she could not see anything better to do she decided to go ahead. She walked a few paces in the direction the passerby had described then looked back at Verrion. "Well? Are you coming?" |

Bhaal Able thought, the hairs on his kneck standing on end too... That's it... I'm going to follow these people... Able decided to wait at the table until the adventurers would head out the door and then he'd follow them keeping a safe distance from being noticed. |

And so, the group headed to the temple of Bhaal. Bhaal's temple was well kept, clean, and made from a light grey stone, whilst the inside was decorated with black and white marble, pillars firmly in place. Behind the alter at the far end of the temple was set an enchanted fountain, gently pouring into a pool. This Bhaal's temple did not look ominous at all, although, strangely, there were no clergy...
As the group looked around, a hooded, dark figured appeared behind them, garbed in long midnight blue robes. Speaking in a soft, musical voice, her gender was obviously female, but her features were hidden. "Greetings, travellers. I know that of what you seek, and I can offer assistance, if you require it." Her accent was refined, noble, yet there was something strange about her. She was tall, at least 5'9, and somehow, power radiated from her. "We share a common goal, though other pressing matters prevent me from seeking the source directly. However, I would suggest that you seek out those who have not been affected as we have. If one such being exists, no doubt he or she is the one responsible. Do not be too hasty, however, for there are many things in this world we cannot truly understand, and not everything is in a form such as us... perhaps, it would be wise for you to seek out other sentient beings, that are bound not in mortal form? There are tales of such trees, wise beyond measure, who exist across the ages... perhaps, you would best be starting there?" the figure observed them for a moment longer and then smiled, "I wish you the very best of luck. Farewell." before anyone could say another word, she vanished. Aeriah blinked, stunned for a moment, thinking to himself "'Who was she?' For once, Kyr was at a loss for words... for a couple of moments before she started chattering again, "Strange lady... I like her though. She seems nice." Then she fell silent again. |

Verrion Sieg 12/12
Verrion scanned the temple's walls for any signs of information about his diety. Many of the inlaid scenes depicted the same figure, most likely Bhaal. One picture, though, caught Verrion's attention. In this scene, Bhaal, in his armor, and many other figures, battled against an armored fighter without an arm, a woman in a dress casting some magic and some other notable characters. One of the figures had the face that was on Verrion's shield, and Verrion was suddenly nervous for seeing that that woman fought against Bhaal. "Yes, we should go to the forest. Now." Verrion started walking fast towards the exit, looking around the temple to make sure noone is lurking in the shadows. [ 10-03-2004, 06:54 AM: Message edited by: Bozos of Bones ]

Drusalia 11/11
She stood thinking of what the mysterious woman had said then suddenly noticed that Verrion had disappeared. Looking around she spotted him next to the exit. Drusalia walked outside and spoke to Verrion: "Why did you leave so fast? Are you eager to walk under nature's embrace in the forests?" |

Verrion said nothing untill he was outside the temple, still looking around as he went. He turned to Drusalia and started "I love nature's simple beauty, and I really do want to go to the forest. But more than that I want to go as far away from this temple as possible."

"Let's go to the forest then. No use brooding about this temple now, it is empty." |
