Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

He scanned the distant rock and dunes to confirm his location and determine where their destination lay. One at a time, his icy gaze searched the keeps for any identifying marks. Eventually, Marcos pointed to one surrounded by a thin mist, and very few hills. The structure seemed to lean a ways south.

"There rises the keep I shall bring you to. It is the property of a good friend of my order, the Duke of Lesismoore."

And that, he decided, was about all they would need to hear for now.

Larry

Larry heard the cry for water from Andrion, the guy that supposedly stabbed him. He did not know for himself, but the others all felt very confident that it had been Andrion that tried to kill him, and was probably the very one that had caused Roderik to go missing as well as the one that delivered the candle into the hands of the Mage...his dark half.

Looking around to make sure that Marcos was not observing, Larry quickly guzzled down all the water in the container, letting it splash and pour into his mouth as well as oll over his road-dusted face. He wiped his face with his sleeve, and handed through the empty container at Andrion, striking his head.

OOC>>>Andrion suffers 2 HP physical damage to the head, which now throbs with pain. hehe.

Andrion Wilgor 43/60

Let it be that way then. Let the stupid ranger have his revenge. If it satisfied his bumbling ego to torment Andrion then he wasn't that far away from the Shadow Mage himself. As he thought of the Shadow Mage images of fire and shadow mingled in Andrion's mind and he suddenly forgot that he had been thirsty. He forgot of everyone around him and focused in on the shadowy flames. The flames which the Mage had conjured to help him take the candle. If only he could master them.

He suddenly snapped out of his thoughts and sent a menacing look at Larry. The intent in it could not be mistaken. Then before anyone else could notice he turned away.

The Mage
(Whose presence can be in at most four places at once, per the D&D rules for demi-gods.)

Andrion heard a whisper in his thoughts.

"Very good, Andrion. You who nearly failed me may again come back into my favor at this accomplishment.
I am here because Larry's hatred for you opened a way across the sunlit sky for me to access you, and as I have, I notice that you are working on a dark art of your own. This is most pleasing. Let me feed you the knowledge you need in order to work it.
I see you are injured as well. Let me heal you.
"

OOC>>>If anybody happens to notice, a few birds fell from the sky and a snake hidden in the tall grass and a rabbit on the other side of the road have also went belly-up. The HP from them have been given to Andrion to cure his injury. Play fairly please and do not notice this stuff simply because I have it written here, or I will have to start playing this game moreso through PM....which I should probably do anyway....but alas.

Anyway, Andrion has recovered all HP.

Andrion Wilgor 60/60

The voice in his head. It had been the mage. So he had not been abandoned. Hatred filled Andrion's heart at Larry the man who had miraculously survived his daggerstrike. He shot a sideways glance at Larry while sending his thoughts at the mage: What would you have me do, master? Shall I kill the one who undeservingly carries your name should I get the opportunity. If you wish so I swear I shall now kill.

"That has always been your mission, and nothing has changed. You will kill this Larry Silverfall before he can cause me trouble. And if you ever are in danger of losing your life, call upon me in the shadows and your life will be reserved.

Do not fail me this time.
"

I shall not fail you. - he sent to the mage.

Andrion then had the idea of putting on a show of his "weakness". The others did not know that he had been fully healed and could not until the bandages remained on his legs.

He slowly started sliding off the horse and then fell to the ground with a thud.

Last move of Roderik in the Tower of Shadow

Roderik

As he ran he waited for a clear intersection, or a stairwell. Once he had arrived at one, he sang a song of marching soldiers, warriors striding off to their deaths in battle. As he finished the sound of booted feet began echoing throughout the tower of the Shadow Mage. No shapes could be seen, but the sounds of three groups of 13 were spreading throughout the tower, walking away from the left hand turn that Roderik had made. He carefully stalked down the passageway keeping an eye out for anything that would want to make a meal out of him.
The Shadow Mage

The shadowed figure left his uninvited guest in his throne room to deal with her new friend so that he could figure out what was going on down below in the dungeons. Apparently, Tao could since this as well, for she was deeply adept at sensing a variety of things.

When he arrived at the place where he had left the giants in charge of Roderik, he amusingly learned that they had lost him by throwing him through a door in which they could not follow by the same path. They had promised that they had already alerted other cretures within the tower to be on the lookout. The Mage smirked and left the two giants in the room, trapped and fearing that a much worse punishment was to come later.

The Mage looked into the shadows and the shadows showed him where his prey was. He was hiding from some shadow bats that had just attacked him, and by way of cleverness had averted their attack. The mage decided then that Roderik's testing had not yet been completed, and decided that it was time to move on to round three for this duo-persona. He wondered that if Roderik were to die...would Rodie come forth and be made whole? It was an interesting theory that he'd have to test out. Now was the time to see how good this Reaper guy was at making minions and send a fiend after this Roderik in a way that would be more than a trivial match-up arena-style battle. This would be a true test of worth for this Roderik fellow. The mage had nothing to fear from this one, and so needed not apprehend him so quickly...therefore...let the creatures in the tower play with him for a while.

In the darkness, a creature of the Mage woke up and smelled fresh blood. It moved swift and in deadly silence through the maze of hallways, hoping to appease its master's summons as well as its own appetite.

Roderik: You have encountered a hallway with two doors, both on the right-side of the hall. The foward path has presented a dead-end. What will you do?

Roderik: Your last move of the illusionary sounds will be accounted for, but there is nothing at this time (this move) for them to work upon.

ooc: heh, so much for "left is right."

IC: Roderik

The sounds of his facade were diminishing as they walked away, it wouldn't fool the Shadow, but it might prove troublesome to his servants. He took a deep breath, and held it, listening to the door, quietly waiting to detect any sort of sound from the other side. He quickly went over his checklist, the daggers were carefully tucked away, and might be useful, if only as makeshift lockpicks. His spells were not that handy as far as blowing through defenses, but that was what Larry the shadow wanted when he built this place, expecting heroes to throw their lives against it's walls, and attempt to force their way within. Subtlety was never his strong suit, and so perhaps trickery would serve him well, unless the Shade had tried to compensate for the subtle trickeries Morguerat had used when he freed the paladin/monkeys, if so, then his chances were nil. Roderik clung to the hope that the mage had let some small matter escape his attention, and that in his haste to reconsolidate his power, he'd let something slip on his defenses.

After a few moments of waiting, he opened the first door he came to (I guess door #1), and ventured through cautiously, his arms prepared to grab, and hurl, the daggers at a split seconds notice.

OOC>>>Never doubt your instincts. You would miss something.

For Roderik:

You walk through the door and it leads you forward, but then turns left at a 90 degree angle after about a dozen steps. You turn left with the walls, and can make no more than four steps when it turns left again at a 90 degree angle. You follow this route for about a dozen steps and then come to a door.
