OOC>>"In the heart of all my people lays the sea-longing, which is perilous to waken." IC>>
BRITOMART (They continue to travel, poor Eliza her captive)"So, what did my misbegotten sister say to you? Whom did she leave with?" ELIZA(Flinches to hear the hated voice, the wire noose tight around her neck)"She left with a ranger and some draggeldy-looking moppet. Why did you take me with you? My father will track you down and kill you. What do you plan to do with me?" BRITOMART"I should like to ransom you, but then I'd have to do it from safely back in Lakasha. My father, the Grand Master of the Order of the Radiant Heart would find out and disapprove.. No, it's safer to just sell you as a slave in one of the towns we come across. I'd get a pretty penny for a pretty little bit like you." ELIZA( her head reels at the thought that she, a king's daughter, might end her days as a slave)"Why are you doing this? What kind of Paladin are you?" BRITOMART (gives her a pinch)"Why, no kind of paladin at all. I am a fighter in the Order, not a Paladin like my goody-two-shoes sister. Besides, you left me little choice when you called in those soldiers. I could, I guess, just kill you, but that indeed would be a waste. I know of a rich merchant of corrupt tastes that is always on the lookout for little girlies like you. Don't worry. The ones I have sold her before have all lasted at least two years before they died." [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Galadria ] |

GALADRIA(awakes to find the ranger gone) "Drat, and I know not whither we were supposed to meet this thief." (spots Rrang, springs up and draws her sword) Sorsha ! Awaken! We have a guest!"

Rrang
The muscled one had finally awoken. As usual, the hindwalkers were weary of him. All hindwalkers were. That was why he preferred pack. Pack was kind. He opened his mouth to speak, a long, low growl preceding his words. "No harm. I protect." The other dark-gray shape was moving now, the one Legolas had said smelled nice. That must be the weak one, like a cub. He would protect. [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Legolas ] |

GALADRIA "I greet you, Rrang. I admit that I have not seen your kind before, but that you are a creature of good intent cannot be denied.(turns about at the noise of her cursed sister entering the camp, with Eliza before her)
BRITOMART "And how about me, sister dear? Will you greet your own blood so courteously?" GALADRIA "Britomart! What are you doing here? And why are you with that little bard? Is that a noose around her neck? What are you up to?" BRITOMART "Why, to tell you, sister dear, that you are summoned back to Karasha by our father. As for this one (she takes the noose off of Eliza and shoves her from her horse. She sprawls on the ground) I was just throwing a good scare into her. Perhaps she'll mind her manners better in the future." (rides off, laughing) [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Galadria ] |

Rrang
He crouched down, eyes wide as he took in the actual shapes of the arrivals. He had smelt them. They smelled. One was like flowers, but too strong. The other was a bit sweaty. He produced a threatening low growl at the actual sight of these hindwalkers. Legolas didn't tell him about the big one. The other one he said was dangerous. But she was in a snare. He didn't know what to expect, and crept closer to the cub. Maybe it was okay. Maybe not. In any case, he would protect. |

Delita Hyral
The lady whom he had been pursuing he know saw riding swiftly the way she came. Still holding the Bard captive, he would have to do something about it. She had also noticed him and had rode on only stonger towards him...~So it's a Jousting she wants...~ He said as he the horses continued on a collision course. At the last moment Delita threw himself off the horse onto the ground and stood up to draw his sword. The horses crashed throwing both the women off and landing them violently on the ground. Approaching the lady who had identified herself as britomart in the Tavern, he said "Kidnapping royalty is looked down upon quite alot in my order. He then called out to the Bard whom he only just discovered to be royalty, "Are you alright my leige?" though not taking his eye off Britomart...

So... All the bad smells had arrived. Horses and sweat and oil, this one. He was pacing back and forth in front of the cub. The Faeralan had no idea how this would work out, but if any of them tried anything suspicious Rrang was going to bite. Or drag this woman to safety. Hindwalkers would have to sort this out for themselves. |

OOC>>WHOA!! Nice change of character, Lego.!
IC>>> Jaime Jaime rode hard and finally made it to the city gates. Upon entering, he slowed down and greeted the guards courtiously. He kept his eyes darting and unblinking for any signs of those whom he sought. Surley Azure would be in this city. Of course, that was not her real name...but as she usually was found doning clothing of said color...the nickname soon found its way as a replacement to her real one. Jaime would not dare utter that name aloud, as it could trace her back to terrible secrets long lost and forgotten. Jaime himself took on another name that day, a few years ago...the "Day of the Parting" he and Azure come to call it. Within ten minutes of trotting on his horse through the streets, he finally came up to the Broken Anchor. There, he dismounted and paid the stable boy two days' loging for his steed in the stables. He then turned to enter the Tavern. As he walked in, he pulled his cowl over his head a little, keeping close attention that not too many people would be noticing any distint features of his, and had a seat near the back where it was quieter. A serving lady approached and he ordered anything that they had that was of elven make. He usually fancied their strange, exotic tastes instead of the harsh hard liquors of any other race. He'd just about drink his own blood in place of anything dwarven. After receiveing his drink, a strange, warm brew that smelt of spices and was a little bubbly, he finally saw a lead to his friend. Snake was always in a tavern. You could always count on that. How he lived or where he lived, nobody could tell, but everyone that ever saw snake...saw him in a tavern. The strange thing about him was that many people would dispute seeing him at different taverns at the same time, almost as though there were more than one of him...for surely he could not be in two places at once. Snake, always wary of people paying him attention of course looked over to see Jaime's eyes looking his way. A thin smile creeped along his lips. Or maybe it was a smirk. No matter. He and snake were old friends and never had any disputes with him. Snake more or less slithered his way to the table where Jaime was sitting, in such a way as to not give any indication that he was destined for that particular table. Amazing skill this one had. He had improved his talents over the past few years. "Well met, stranger...What brings you to our fair town? I do hope it's something dreadful and scary!" "Actually, my dear Snake...I just wanted to drop in and see how the old haunting grounds were...you know, relive the memories..." "Oh. Well...See anything you like? I know where many of these people live, and am working on that group over there tonight. They have been in town for three days. Wanna join me on the hunt?" "No, sorry, my friend. I am actually on an assignment. I sorta got myself into a bundle and well, I am helping some travelers track down some hired assasins. Is there a place where we can talk?" "Why, certainly! You know me. I have many holes in the wall...so to say..." With that said, Snake leads Jaime out of the main hall and into a more secluded area, where a trap door led down into the cellars. There, Jaime filled Snake in on all the happenings of the past while and asked if he could get help from him and Azure. [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

BRITOMART(draws sword, but looks amused} (to Delita)"You mistake, good sir. She is not with me any longer. I have landed her with my cursed sister, and much good may she have of her. They are not two hundred yards to the west, as I reckon it. I merely read her a litle lesson on humility, which, if she ever becomes more than a little squit, may serve her well. I also believe, from your earlier questions, that the girl you seek is with her." She smiles to herself again, mounts her horse, and gallops off.

Raymond
He sat there, whittling away at the little block of wood that was going to soon become a nice little...er ...well he had not decided what it was to be yet, but that is the fun in whittling away at the wood. Raymond had been there alone for nearly four hours, while Isaura slept under the makeshift grass tent. He looked over to the tent and smiled, stood up and stretched the kinks out of his muscles from sitting so long in the moss bed. Yet his action had made something off in the meadow to his right startle from its hiding spot. Slowly putting his arms down and peeking over to where his short-sword lay, he turned his attention back towards the meadow. He had seen something move out there...and it had been because of his sudden rise. Could it be a harmless beast or fowl?, he wondered. Looking back to the tent, he was half decided to go and awake his companion, but did not want to needlessly. She would want to stand watch and now, there was nothing that would get him to sleep. Should I go and investigate?, he wondered silently. Yet, if I did...I would be leaving my frined open and defensless if it were an ambush..., he thought. Maybe he was overreacting. He decided to try and calm himself. He sat back down on the moss and began again to whittle away at the block. Maybe he was just tired. He tried to forget what he had seen. Soon, it would be sunrise and the nightly critters would all scurry away to their safe holes for the day. [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |
