Well, at least you spell Excaliber correctly

Having a good backup weapon is also nice when you are fighting stuff with missle shield up.

Right, swap weapons, shout "Deflect this!," and go to town on the head of the enemy.

Oh, and J.S., that grammar policing is funny, but Megabot is from Norway, after all. He does pretty well for a nasty taffer.

It does bring up the question of whether he should have fired that first shot, though...

Highly amusing

The correct spelling is EXCALIBUR as per the original King Arthur legend ... if it's spelled as you say in this game then if some Canadian company chooses to plageurise it and then mis-spell it that's not MY problem

You're taking this way too seriously and way too personally.

That said, you aren’t even entirely correct. Excalibur is the commonly accepted spelling, sure, but virtually every version of the legend used a different spelling. Geoffrey of Monmouth called it “Caliburnus”, Bulfinch called it “Escalibar”, sometimes it’s “Escalibor”, and some people have even suggested that it’s simply a more modern corruption of “Caladbolg”.

Who are you to make snide comments about Sirtech’s choice of spelling?

And in other news… I always try to keep an extended weapon equipped on my ranger, for reasons already mentioned. If the ranger happens to be a Mook, then the Giant’s Sword works quite well. I’m also not entirely convinced that a ranger does more damage with arrows than he would do with a good melee weapon, in any case.

Whatever you call it, I still haven't seen it.

On rangers, you're right about the damage (even the best arrows & bow don't do that much damage), but it's the instakills that make carrying all those arrows around worthwhile.

Twas intended to be a bit of a poke in the ribs, just joshin' ya kind of thing (hence the and ). No offence intended, I realize that English is probably not your first language if you're from Norway.

BTW, just got the ivory blade tonight - now we'll see if my Lord is worth a @%$!

I am almost wishing I tried out "excalibur" in my game, lol I got it from nessies chest and never even equipped it. I was running a lord as my only big hack and slash guy and didnt want to use a 2 handed sword (and lose my duel weapons skill I had worked so hard to build)

Now I'm p*ssed! Struggle through most of the friggin' game with Bloodlust as my only decent sword, and now I that my party is lvl 20/21 and getting close to the endgame, I've got Excaliber, the Ivory Blade (thanks Ferro), the Muramoso Blade, the Saint Bastard, Bloodlust, and the Bushido blade! Not enough fighter types to go around!!!

Ah well, I've got my Drac fighter using Excaliber, my Lord has the Ivory Blade (making him - finally! - worth something in melee; I screwed up his development big time), and my ninja has the Muramoso and an enchanted wazurki (sp?). Al-Sedexus didn't make it through round 3

Now, where's that bubblehead Dark Savant character?
