I do not get it...

A fighter with red dragon mail, a ring of fire resistance and the dragon helm (with the fire resistance) actually heals the fighter amids a fireball???

How come... ?

Greetings Flits3

Let us assume that your Fire Resistance is 120%.

The max you are allowed in ToB is 127%. I forgot what the max is in SoA.

Let us then assume that you get hit by a Fireball that deals 100 Fire Damage.

You will heal 20 Hp, thanks to the excess of the 20%.

I can't believe that armour isn't considered magical. I am going right to the game to try on a Ring of Prot +2!

That armour is almost cheating. I put it on with the ring prot+2,gaxx ring, shield +4, that sewar robe and my elf f/t came out with an AC of -14. I don't think anything can hit me anymore....

I f you have TOB installed, the Red Dragon Plate will not allow Ring of Fire Protection. Sigh!

Urm, I think you mean Ring of Protection +1(2). Ring of Fire Protection works fine with the Red Dragon Scale Armour even with ToB installed.

Right, Dundee, I just checked. My Cavalier has 110% fire protection with Red Dragon Plate+ Ring of Fire Protection. Was going to edit my post, but you beat me to it. Sorry! P.S. Best armor in BGII is Shurrupak's Plate, AC:-2, adds+1 to DEX,, and 20% Fire Protection. Dundee, I notice you wore it in your solo finale post.

Cavaliers have 20% Fire Resistance, I gained another 20% from a Tear of Bhaal, another 20% from the Helmet of Defence, 20% from the Shuruppak's Armour. This gave me 80%, and I can boost it to 100%+ with other equipment like shields or scrolls or potions.
