Wow.... I thought games were for us youngins Not only am I proved wrong but stupid as well heh.

16, yeah thats right, 1 6 years old... I cant even drive for another month haha thats how young I am. Wait.. before you label me as the stereotypical gamer (i.e 16yo and male) I have one thing to add... I'm a male.

O.K now label me Naw despite what you might think I dont say "i are l33t!!" too much and my hax0ring skillz could use some polish (what skills )

Anyways I've plaid RPGs exclusively since i was about 10 (finally was weaned off commander keen lol). Started on ultima.... uhhh.. might be 5 or underworld 2 (oh and finished playing that series after 10 mins of ultima 9 AHHHHHH). And played a HELL of a lot of RPGs in the next 6 years. -Never- played wizardry untill 7 about a year ago so you all have an advantage over me (as I have over you with my youth heh j/k). I -did- cave somewhat in recent times and now I play fps as well (I ARE L33T! )

Have to say fav RPG of all time was daggerfall (yes despite its bugs) anyone else waiting for MW to come out?

Oh yeah I live in Brisbane, Australia - and was suprised to find another Australian that likes rpgs (no-one that I know likes em - thats not counting diablo [which is NOT a rpg dammit])

Anyways thats me basically

Spoon

p.s wait...... my names Tim. Yeah you're all lucky to be getting this

Use it for good not for evil

edit: WOAH thats a lot of smilies... only slightly more then moni tho so its ok *g*

Look Davros, another fellow Queenslander Cool Spoon, where abouts do you live in Brisbane?

Well I have decided I am going to buy this game, when it finally comes out in Australia, although this will be my first Wizardry game. I'm a bit excited actually, and lord do I need something to fill up my time (not a word, Davros )

My name's Mel, and I'm 20; sorry to throw off your average Saz, I think you'll find you're now above average lol. Let's call it distinguished Ripe, even Just when poor old Davros was feeling spritely again

I go to university where I study psychology and other assorted arts-related fluff . I hope to become a neuropsychologist, but that's many years of studying to come.

And I'm sure you'll all see a lot more of me when I start playing and running into difficulties, brunette with blonde aspirations that I am

(Btw Davros, I sent you a PM )

How do I not know where Hawthorne is? God I'm ignorant I'm on the north side, McDowall.

OP, well, depends how you do it. I do it in a science degree at UQ, only need an 8 or so for that, or you can do it in arts, that's about a 10. But if you do a special psych degree at UQ I think it's about a 3. Dunno about other unis, probably about the same Psych is interesting, especially neuropsych, but there are a lot of specialisations you can go into - developmental, clinical, social etc. You should look into it.

Another old fart here, and an Australian one at that. 39 going on 20, and living by the shores of Lake Macquarie in NSW. My first experience of computer games was a text adventure called 'Adventure' that I played on a DEC PDP11 at the place where my stepfather worked in 1978. I spent many weekends making maps and being chortled at by passing pirates.
I worked as a computer tech through the 80's (mini's and Unix boxes) and had a very low opinion of PC's and their ilk. I started to get interested with Betrayal at Krondor, but didn't really become obsessed until BG. Loved M&M 6 & 7, and W&W.
Now I just can't help myself, and I'm avidly looking forward to my preordered copy of W8 to arrive

I'm 24 years old; from Pecs, Hungary.
My first rpg was maybe "Death Knights of Krynn" & "Dungeon Master" on my Commodore Amiga.

Bye!

That makes two of us Spoon - I know where Hawthorne is, but I don't recall a McDowall - bit more info please Mel - NE, NW, outer suburb of the NW I am thinking???? Oh, and I have answered your message with an Email . Great to see you are going to get the game!!!

Ah, and Spoon , you "prolly" have some real talent for the arts there . Always great to see a fellow Queenslander - don't let the fact I live over with the Sandgropers put you off. I grew up in the canefields of Mackay, before a year at JCU, and 3 years at UQ. Go the mighty Brisbane Lions - WOOHOO.

Oh, man, I played both of these so much! I never finished The City, but I spent a lot of time there. I did finish The Dungeon and I liked that one better (but I always wished that you could go back and forth). I loved the crude weather effects in The City (the rain and thunder) and The Dungeon was just a lot of fun.

I sure wished that they would have expanded this like they always promised. They said that there would be AR: The Palace, AR: The Arena, AR: The Wilderness and plenty of others. It showed that you could create great atmosphere (and even a sense of loneliness!) without massive graphics. Of course Wizardry 8 is a fine experience, but there was something about finding hidden doors or areas and suddenly being out of the elements of the City or finally getting into a Guild in the Dungeon.

For a while, I worked in a store that sold Atari ST and Commodore Amiga's and got to play Dungeon Master. I LOVED that game. Our manager would let us stay late at night and play as long as we locked up and we would take advantage of that all the time. Dungeon Master II for the PC was a big disappointment for me, though.

It was a disappointment, but I did play it. The original was one fine game, I have to say. It's really what made me get an Atari ST way back when. I loved experimenting with spells and gaining abilities. I loved finding out that you could use the environment to your advantage. I remember the first time I bashed a mummy by closing a door on him! What a surprise that was! I remember using a grate to get rid of a water elemental. I remember being able to use the tree creatures as food (even unlimited food in one area).

It's nice to hear about someone else loving these games as much as I did.
