Hey Saz

Where is that in the Hall of the Past? My characters are down at the bottom by the Pentagram...and I have a save right at the entrance to the Hall. I'd love to get to spot and get my characters to about level 40-50.

Stat mongering? Aww, I did all mine without cheating, but I refuse to use hex editors. I even just kept the items you gave me as a fun file, I want to find things on my own and do it the right way.

You know, another thing, when I played Wiz 7 before, my sound card wasn't working and all I got were stratchy PC speakers sounds, and no music. Its nice to hear the music when you pull up a character window, its a catchy little tune!

There are two chests I missed in the Evil speak area.....I guess if I want them I'll have to get some Jonga Powder......

Scronan: I'll hack you some Jonga powder tonight so you can try it out.

Actually, I never used hacking on my own party, other than to experiment and see what everything was...The only time I hacked during the game was to help people out who had either lost or never gotten the "LEGEND" map to be able to proceed into the Hall of the Past.

Ye gods, Scronan, I can't remember what level that thing was on in the HoP! That dungeon was 8x8x8 and teleports all over the place!! The only thing I remember is that it was on the same level that there was a huge 5x5 room with several spinners and teleports. It was just to the east of that room, at an intersection. Every time you passed that point, it would respawn a major encounter. However: I think you had to leave the level and return to get it to respawn. That was pretty easy, though, once you learned the teleport pattern.

If the clue above is enough for you to find it, great! Otherwise, let me know and I'll see if I can dig up some of my old maps and maybe post one for you.

Hey Saz

Cool, I might not need it if I can find some Gorror keys...that Beast just has to go down....I will get him!

Ok, as long as I know its in the lower levels, I can find it. I think I recall stumbling along there, but at the time I was wanting to finish the game and not stock up levels as my characters were already beefed up. I think I got about 10 levels fighting the Meta Droids (or whatever they were called).

It is fun to try out some weird items with a hacking program. One of those items you gave me, increased max hp on my characters...(male only), and never seemed to run out of charges!

On that note, I wonder if there are any good weapons to get, I could use another Zatoichi Bo, but is the Avenger better than Excaliber? That's a nice sword, but two handed...my Lord could use a nice Shield. Like the Mercurian Light Shield!

Gotta run!

IMO, the Avenger is better than Excalibur, because it is one-handed and yet can be meleed as well (and you can equip the Shield with it, too).

Scronan: I was wrong. The intersection is on the level with all the crystals and the pentacle. Goes to show what several years of forgetfulness will do to a brain! What I was remembering is that the level where the huge room with the spinners is located is how you get back to that corridor quickly.

(MAP OF HALL OF THE PAST BELOW):

Look at the map segment surrounded in red. Where the red asterisk is located is the "Fight Respawn" square. To get back to it, go north, then east, to FF. It will teleport you to the level surrounded in blue. Go west from ff, and south, and enter the gate to the east of (7). Step inside the gate at DD, and you'll be transported back to dd on the Respawn level. Exit the room and back to the red Asterisk. Fight, and repeat.

Hope this helps!

The Wizardry 7 editor I had in mind can be found by choosing item 4b "Another character/item editor", at: http://www.angelfire.com/games/stg45/ . It's called "dsedit". W7edit is good too, but I liked dsedit better.

The one mentioned a few posts above looks even better, but alas! seems to require payment. What I like about dsedit, is that it lets you view ALL the items written into the game, even some that I have NEVER encountered in my many, many play-throughs.

Enjoy the hack!

Great map, Sazerac! Are these of your own design, or are they from a strategie guide? Actually, now that I see your maps, your red asterisk spot is exactly the spot I was thinking of! Most of the time it spawned either demonic baddies or cave thraxes. Either way, good exp.

Oh, I WISH I could draft that good, JonII! No, that's from my strategy guide from years and years ago, scanned in and amended in Paint Shop Pro. I did have detailed maps at one time, but they seem to have gone the way of "File 13"... oddly enough, every single one of my Wiz 6 maps is intact, even the ending temple (and that was a b***h to map out, lemme tell you!)

And, you're right, the "red spot" was always either Bloodwyrms or the big demons (Necromani, I think?) I always liked it when it was the Necro-dudes; a couple of good "Astral Gate" spells and they'd be on their way...hello new level!
