I did a run through the new level 8 and did not find any Kukri. Possibly someone else had already picked it up. Can you be a bit more specific on where it is.

The Kukri is in the Zhent Chest. That is outside a tent in the Zhent Camp to the North East of the level. If you got there before you know to watch out for IGMS. Those Zhent Agents cast it like its a level 1 spell!
