Guess I'm not alone. My first copy, with the red paper didn't work.It wouldn't load so I returned it to wallmart.Than about a wk later got another from same store and it had the code in the manual. That one worked fine. But I also had to uninstall NWN and reload it with the new patch.Major pain in the ass.But it's all fine now..

Well, my Atari replacement disc arrived in the mail today and I managed to install it easily - so the problem *was* a faulty disc. All the hours I spent downloading drivers, ripping files to HD, trying to change configs - all to get a bloody faulty disc to work.

Anyway, all sorted now and looking forward to playing this weekend.

I read alot of posts about this over at Bioware forum. Seems that ATARI didn't learn their lesson with NWN, where they later on released a patch with the CD detection software removed due to the problem it caused people trying to play the game.
Another notch for the pirates really. They have no problem with it as I have seen plenty of posts about people using no cd patches etc and you can probably find the game online if you surf around abit. For Geenieboy here though that bought the game and ALOT of others.. Nope.

Bah, a game thats meant for online gaming should live on the serial number and registration so you can only play online if it is registered instead. Well MHO at least.

Good to hear that it solved itself man. Have fun!

Well, I finished the game in 4 days. Kind of went hardcore.

I thought this OC was much better than the NWN OC, though these games are really not for the OCs - they're for the toolset functionality and multiplayer. I like what they've done to the toolset, though I've been a bit out of touch with it all - have to remember what everything does again.
