yknow, it was horrendous to get it at teamBG. plus i've been a member of teamBG for over 2 years now, and for some weird reason, i couldn't log on to the forums. so i sent a polite email to ken, telling him my problem. it's been, ohhhh, 7 weeks and they still haven't done a thing. i don't think i'm a trouble maker, just always been interested in what they do and have learned how to do scripting thru their forums and tutorials. so it kinda bugged me.

anyway, i found out about BG1tutu and i would HIGHLY recommend that mod to anyone. it's easily downloaded and has no bugs that i know of. plus it allows me to play BG1 now. i'm running XP Pro and had some really weird visual problems with BG1. namely that the play screen was shifted on my monitor about 2" to the right. so i couldn't see my char's pix or any of the buttons directly under them and had a big 2" black border down the right side. it was very distracting and made it unplayable for me. but as soon as i got BG1tutu up, i got to play it immediately. and with the BG2 engine. it was gorgeous and almost made me cry.

if anyone decides to get that, when you load up, just make sure that you choose to keep all the characters as "pure class" rather than assigning them any of the BG2 classes. that is, if you want a pure BG1 experience.

I had the monitor shifting problem too, with BG1,BG2 and other games.
What graphics adapter are you running on?
New drivers (and the nVidia nView tool) solved this problem for me. You can always adjust your set and readjust it back returning to windows (or save two configs on your monitor if it supports that)
