Hear hear!
A carefully placed grease spell requires a bit of thought. Rather that than YAWN - timestop, finger of death, battle over.

i guess you are right. But having 7 hit points is a bit randomn.
Like if goblin misses you kill goblin and level up. If goblin hits you die.
Very Randomn.

remember, this is a _role-playing fantasy game_. Your from BG will be in NWN.

just think of it this way:

A bunch of vamps got pissed off, ganged up on you one night, took all your stuff and permanently level drained you a bit...

I know I'm not going to import though...i want a clean start...besides, my main is a half-orc female...and she'll be running around in her bikini for a while...i'm not _that_ mean.

I'll be real curious to check this out. I never did like DM'ing P&P games. It's way too hard to find a group of folks that want to play. I spent a lot of time engineering a ravenloff adventure once. The game was made with some pre-generated custom characterss in mind. The game was designed for chars. of a certain level for balance also. Of course, two people balked at not being able to use THEIR souped up 20th level chars with a bunch of overpowered magic items. I mean, how do you fit a 20th level egyptian sorceress/preistess into a ravenloff adventure designed for 5-7th level clerics and fighters with one mage? Then, to top it all off, he started screaming when I "Made" things happen in order to keep the story line straight and the plot interesting? I had a habit of constantly rolling dice so the players wouldn't know when there really was something happening. He told me I shouldn't be rolling dice at all unless he knew what for so he could check if I was cheating!!!!! He destroyed the atmosphere, the plot, my patience, etc. AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was the third and last time I attempted DM'ing P&P games. I'll read the books for fun and play computer games exclusively. Sigh!

Here's another good one. I used to Administrate "Top Secret" games some years back. One of the two guys quits 20 minutes into the game. He was mad that he was seriously injured and the other guy wasn't even scratched. Get this. He decided to engage a man 150 yards away weilding a scoped hunting rifle with his choice weapon, a sawed off shotgun!!!!!! I warned him of his folly and he insisted!
