Do you want a game now but which is unplayable because it has so many bugs, has issues with your not-quite-top-of-the-range graphics card and crashes on install, then wait till a huge patch is released that takes a year to dl, or would you rather wait a while and get a finished product?

I know it makes me mad when I buy a game that isn't complete, so I opt for waiting.

I would love them to release all those new prestige classes and regional feats. I'm looking forward to being an arcane devotee of Mystra.

I wouldn't put too much faith in EBGames or any other vendor. The only people who know when it will be released is Bioware. As far as I know it is still slated for Winter.

My thoughts exactly Necroguy! The shops can put in any "release" date they want. As long as Bioware doesn't officially tell the press, it's just speculation. period.

And welcome to the board, by the way!!

Maybe the reason why different shops have different, or no, release dates is that the producing company plans to send it to them, releasing their products in highly hyped waves. Something to do with supply and demand (creating the demand by sudden lack of supply prior to suddenly making a highly desired and anticipated piece of merchandise highly available (and yet still highly priced due to niaive people believing that there won't be enough to go round) before going into a lull to drum up more demand before releasing it all again).

More likely though it's just that some people got a bit hopeful, tried to predict a release date, rival websites decided that they didn't like it enough/ wanted a longer anticipation period to drum up proffit, and put up a later date. SOme company executive turns round and says "such and such a date? Don't make me laugh, we've only just got round to covering such and such an element and we've got so and so more to do" and people despaired and put up even later dates.

Just thought I'd give an interesting (if somewhat controversial) viewpoint on this for people to consider.

Yes, but remember, when EBgames is wrong, it's usually because the date is delayed, and not pushed up. But I agree, I'll wait and see, and if it's NOT out in Winter 2001, I guess it will be March (HOPE not though).

We shall see, BTW, Ziroc, do you still want help on the Undermountain Project? I notice that my enquiry about it on the appropriate forum seems to have gone unanswered. Please get in touch (although I'll probably do The Keep on the Borderlands first for good measure, I always loved that simple adventure).

Sure I do! I've just been so busy with Dungeon Craft (A RPG Game Maker for download free) that I put making map levels on hold.

Anyone that wants to draw up some large levels, do it, and email or post them here!! Awesome!
