Harpers are good and decent folk, and Xzar is a known Zhentarim. No good character would aid a Zhent. Also, good characters have no business acquiring CF or SOTM, as this involves breaking and entering.

Okay, again as before, I agree... Mostly... Now forgive me if I repeat myself a little here. I'm sure we can agree that most actions for a character of any alignment can be rationalized in some way or another, and every alignment has many shades of grey. Thats what make it your character... Thats what make it fun...
My character is a really really really dark shade of grey. He dosent want to help the dryads or do any other goodie goodie quest. I don't know why... Thats just the way he is... Hes a real jerk... Hes extreamly selfish and just really not a pleasent person and I apologize in advance for him, but thats him... We can make up pleanty of reasons for why a character might do certain things, but thats not my evil character, thats some one elses evil character... This is my sixth time through the game and this is just the way I want to play it this time. My guy is "EVIL" and I cant stress that enough. In this game, in order to role play my dude the way I want him to be, I feel constrained. Mainly becuase, for most quests, the option is to either rationalize you behavior to get some XP or to turn it down and get none. Now sure there a millions reason why a chaotic evil character might do some good quests. Sure, my guy might stop by trademeet. He might even help those famlies fueding over the seal in the crypt, but after my dude loots the crypt, hes out of there, hes not stoping to chit chat just to pick up some XP. He doesn't car about the political situation of the city or if the familys choke on the seal. He's killed some undead, he's got some loot and he's out... Again thats just him, if he cared, he'd be sorry, but he's not and thats just my dude and I wont comprimise or rather he wont... I've been playing D&D on paper since the 80's and even then, when playing TSR moduals, the XP reward for doing things the "right" way was always higher...

Again you are focusing too much on what an Evil character can't do, as opposed to what an Evil character can do. Furthermore, by solely highlighting the XP issue, a misconception that Evil characters have it 'harder' in the game is implied.
You talk about the sticks without mentioning about the carrots. |

Thats becuase I feel the XP issue is the biggest one I have to face. It lowers my saving throws, it lowers my thaco, etc.
All I'm saying is to play the character I'd like to play, I feel like theres isnt enough XP out there for me to advance far enough in the game. Never bring a knife to a gun fight. I'd hate to end up fighting irenicus with a party thats a few levels short of a picnic basket. Like maybe were talking Jack the Ripper here.(we're not but just for arguments sake) Maybe I never talk to anyone in the game who dosent initiate dialogue first. Maybe I kill every single person I pass. Kill first and no questions for later. And any one who does initiate dialogue first, I don't except their quest and kill them too... This is extreme I know, but you have to admit that there is a certain level of insanity that might not be conducive to playing the game... Actually I've been thinking it might be cool next time I go through the game to try that. Just kill every living creature in the game. A virtual ghost town. Might be interesting. Only problem with virtual ghost town is the eternally spawning Radiant Heart members

Well, if the character is killing people and asking questions later, it's the characters own fault for not advancing quickly enough. If that's the way you're roleplaying this time around, think of it as a challenge and your cross to bear. Plenty of evil characters have ample opportunity for experience, so this style is exceedingly difficult. And I'll say right now that the game wasn't designed for it... But so what? I'm sure you can still beat the game easily if you're creative enough.

I think if you really want to have your xp limited, try roleplaying a coward (good, evil no matter).

[ADD] Not to mention other things--ever seen what happens when you try to obtain the Patrol Leader's helmet through non-peaceful means? Your Rep pretty much instantly goes down the toilet, that's what, and you can't even keep your hands relatively clean by asking S. to help you out.
