Whether you meet Yuan-Tis or Minotaurs depends on your level.

planar prison always seem to be good value doesn't it?
last time through i too only had to poke bits of the warden with my new boots although there were no thralls left standing either - i like the idea of my heroes trying to avoid each other's eye as they listen to the destruction up the coridor - "do you think we should go and, you know, help . . ?" my least pleasant level-related spawn shock was umberhulks in the prison when i was trying a solo fighter - very confusing! |

I would have preferred the Yuan-Ti myself... Ah well.

Faldorn recently left for Trademeet. Over the course of the Druid Grove, my computer froze twice. I was most frustrated, but I did manage to kill Ihfateer. I summoned two fire elementals and let them rip them apart. The elementals were immune to the pathetic weapons the Rakshasa had equipped, and I just stayed out of range. It was most satisfying.
I then proceeded to take care of the spore colonys. I REALLY REALLY HATE THEM SO MUCH! In terms of annoyance and exasperated noises made, they rank up there with mustard jellies and kobold commandos. So I took two elementals, me, and simulacrum-Faldorn, both of us as sword spiders. One elemental and one Faldorn each took each colony and made short work of them before they could summon TOO many of those accursed mushrooms. And then I saved. And that's a wrap for now. I realize I haven't been keeping up on this thread, but I've actually found things to do, so that's all for tonight. Until next time, I remain Faldorn The Pretty Good Druid [ 01-14-2004, 08:36 PM: Message edited by: Illumina Drathiran'ar ]

Alright!
Faldorn has taken the druid grove! In a not-so-epic battle, Faldorn and Faldorn duked it out in the pit, and I provided color commentary. They didn't seem to mind. "And we have Faldorn casting elemental resistences and iron skins. Nice, but here's Faldorn with Insect Plague! That's gotta hurt! But it doesn't seem to be hurting her. She attacks Faldorn with her staff. Faldorn then casts Dolorus Decay twice, and it seems to have no effect on Faldorn. Perhaps she's immune to slowness and/or disease. Intriguing. And now Faldorn has become a spider and is whacking away, and.. Ooh, there go the iron skins. And we have poison, ladies and gentlemen of the grove! It looks like it's all over for Faldorn. Wait, wait....! Yeah, it's over. And Faldorn is the new leader of the grove!" "Well, Bob, do you think we should say a few words for Faldorn?" "Why? She's alive." "No, the dead one." "Oh. She was a bit of a bitch, but she meant well." "There you have it, folks. She was a bitch but she meant well. Back to you, Illumina." Faldorn went back to Trademeet, got her reward, sold some things, bought more. Her inventory is as follows: Leather Armor Bracers of Armor AC 3 Vhailor's Helm Amulet of Power Club +3, Blackblood Buckler +1 Wand of the Heavens (5 charges) Ring of Protection +2 Ring of Human Influence Cloak of Displacement Boots of Speed Girdle of Hill Giant Strength Scroll of Protection from Magic (2) And in storage: Staff-Mace Staff of Air Control The Root Of The Problem Belt of Inertial Barrier You realize what this means, don't you? It means I need to go get the Horn, upgrade it as best I can, then get into the Planar Sphere to get the Gloves of Strength. I really like the Belt of Inertial Barrier, but I'm too weak to go without strength augmentation. I keep getting sidetracked, but I figure I'll need all the help I can get before I set off for Brynnlaw And Beyond. Happy trails, -Faldorn The Fairly Great Druid [ 01-17-2004, 04:54 PM: Message edited by: Illumina Drathiran'ar ]

Faldorn sat in the grove, her legs crossed, deep in a trance. The water lapped around her, as she was about waist-deep in it. Here, the elements converged. The water around her, the air she breathed, the earth that made up the cavern, and the fires that kept it warm. Here, in her grove... *her* grove.. she was granted a vision.
"The zealousness of the soldiers of Amn will be their doom... You are not an Amnish citizen. Do not allow yourself to be bullied." She opened her eyes, feeling refreshed. She didn't know what the vision meant, but she did know that the only part of Athkatla she would be in tomorrow would be the Government District. She set out immediately. "Could it have been this encounter with the fanatics who wanted to burn the drow? No, they were not soldiers of Amn...." Her thoughts were disrupted by a small man, a gnome. They spoke for a while, until they were... interrupted. This man was incredibly rude to her, when she wasn't even a citizen of this barbaric city. She refused to cooperate, and he threatened her: Cooperate or die. She bowed her head, in a surrendering gesture... and spat on his boot. Immediately she was swarmed with soldiers and wizards... The soldiers, she could handle easily. The wizards would have to wait. She ran, and they gave pursuit. She came to an estate. The butler came to greet her and she shoved him out of the way, and summoned a fire elemental... then another one. She then stepped outside to lure them, one by one, to their doom. Half an hour later, they all lay dying at her feet. She leant over each and every one of them, her wild chestnut hair tickling their faces, and took great pleasure in giving them a last message before killing them: "Don't mess with nature, or it'll mess with you." The balance, which had leant towards Law, had shifted back with her chaotic actions. People would think less of her, but she didn't give a damn what they thought. She, Faldorn, took orders from herself and nature. Nobody else. ***** Having almost exclusively played good characters, I took great pleasure at telling Trax to go... To go committ a physically impossible sexual act to himself and being justified in this. It was quite profitable and ridiculously easy to slaughter the Centurions... The elementals were immune to their weapons.. and when I rested, the wizards disappeared. The great thing is, when luring them to the Jyssev Estate, an Amnish Soldier actually attacked a Centurion. I was quite amused. That was fun. Until next time, Faldorn The Great Druid [ 01-18-2004, 05:15 PM: Message edited by: Illumina Drathiran'ar ]

Do you get Gate and Protection from Evil? That's quite fun to cast in a big crowd, or in front of a Roenall.

"I took great pleasure at telling Trax to go... To go committ a physically impossible sexual act to himself"
i think the phrase you're looking for is... "attempt a physiologically impossible act of self-impregnation"... one of my favorite phrases.. ![]()

YES! YES IT IS! Thank you so very much! I am writing that down.
And no, druids don't get Gate. I don't like the delegation thing anyway. In trying to keep Faldorn's rep near 10 at all times... Let's just say that she saved Trademeet as means to an end and had to get back down. Next she'll free some slaves because slavery is unnatural, not even SHE can tolerate slaves... and then perhaps go help Nalia at her keep. But we know how Faldorn doesn't appreciate people mouthing off at her and disrespecting her... We better hope nobody trys to pull that on her there... ::cackles evilly::
