Guys: reread it! He put enough bad things on the weapon already, AND it was a fun weapon not an actual mod thing! Relax!

you call a +5 or +6 weapon not overpowered??!!! InToB, you can get +5 and +6 weapons pretty easily, and those are extremely overpowered

Just a show of opinion from ToB players...who thinks that weapons like Angurvudel +5, Foebane +5, staff of the ram +6, etc, are overpowered? And upgraded CF can hit every single creature in the game except for just 2 creatures. Now, honestly, don't tell me that's not overpowered.

Everbody keeps complaining about the weapons being to overpowered and yet everybody also keeps on rolling the dice until they get the highest possible stats without cheating. Someone who has 18/18/18/18/18/3 as stats will be overpowered, even with a dagger-2. Stats represent the mental and physical prowess an adventurer has while the weapons are tools the adventurer uses. The weapons are often powered up by celestial beings or great/heroic men/women in the history of Faerūn. Sure, you are a bhaalspawn and during the progression of the story you become quite powerful, but your heritage is shown in the special abilities you posess and the changes you undergo and not in ridiculous stats like those aforementioned.

In other words: the weapons are just fine and the HackMaster+12 isn't a serieus intended weapon in the first place, so......

in all my games of bg1 and 2 i have never kept rolling and it has never made the game any worse. Last time when i started bg1 in bgt and decided that i would take my character right through bg1 and 2 includin TOB. I thought this time i would make a godly guy with very high stats so i rolled a 92 or something after about ten minutes but then i had to go out and decided not to start the game. When i actually did start the game i decided i wouldnt bother and only rolled a couple of times, producing an 84 which i kept. I got a few tomes and here i am kicking peoples asses in baldurs gate (the city) No need for these godly stats after all!

Back to the sword:
Anyone besides me want to make the affects cumulative for critical misses, starting with the first. i.e.:

the first critical miss is -2 dex (for a time) and 5% for having to save vs death

The second critical miss is -3 dex (for a time) and 10% for vorpal on swinger, save at -1

The third critical miss is -4 dex (for a time) and 15% for vorpal, save at -2

Fourth : -5d, 20%, save at -3

Fifth: -6d, 25%, save at -4

topping out at 8th critical miss: -10d, -5str, 40% vorpal (save at -7)

(note that more than two critical hits during a fight will probably kill the user from the dex drain alone. fitting for a +12 hackmaster sword.)
