Sigh... I already know your character needs to enter melee range to use Firetooth +4, and you have not answered my query yet.

When your character is all alone on the screen( just move your party members away), does the Fog of War envelop him? Changing the item will not affect the end-result if you have the infamous bug I think you might have.

Okay I have Readded the weapon in and interestingly enough I replace this new one on me main character (a BARBARIAN) to use and it works but then after a while when we run into new monsters even the 'new firetooth' one reverts back to the way it was b4, she can't attack with it unless she moves right next to the target...BUT then I tried changing this firetooth onto to another character like (JAN and SAREVOK), both the old and new ones, - they can attack with it the way it should work!

SO! what can u conclude from this?

I do not understand what u mean by 'Fog of War envelop him' ???
What is this infamous bug?
how do I patch it up if I do have it? where to find?

And also as I have said the item change really does effect it for a moment or two but then again I also tested it with a giant hair crossbow to narrow it down to it only being the firetooth but this also does not work?!
hmmmmm how strange?

Any ideas now?

THANKS for the help!

I wanted to post this yesterday but my connection went down:

Quote:
Have you tried giving it to other party members? Have you tried using another crossbow or a bow with the apparent character?
I don't think there's anything wrong with the item.
Normally if you have to run up to a person with a ranged weapon it means you're blind and normally there's a blindness icon on your character picture. However there is a known bug which makes blindness stay forever even after the spell is expired on several occasions (especially with evil chars in Holy Smite). There's no little picture and no dispel magic will help.
So if this is the case (are you running a pre-patch game? do you have Baldurdash installed?) you will have to fix your char rather than the bow.
So, yes you have tried it with someone else and it worked. That means your char is blind. What Dundee meant was: "If you move your char away from the party can he see more than one square ahead (e.g. if you attack a party of enemies and flee with all you other chars would he still see the foes or not?)

So even if your char is not marked as blind try "Dispel Magic", "Remove Curse" and some healings (including these two) at a temple. If that doesn't work you can always cheat him back to normal I guess (I don't know how deep the bug runs).

You can get the official patches from the Bioware site but this bug is probably only fixed in the famous Baldurdash fixes at www.baldurdash.org. You can also check out the buglist there to see what fits your problem.

Ok Its been SOLVED! She *was* blind with no blind icon!
I 1st tried Dispel magic but it was the remove curse that did it!
Strange tho how come resting did not wear off the effect of the spell?

Do I still need the Bug patch I am not sure if I have already installed the baldurdash patch - Is there anyway of checking within the game itself? like usually when patched like ICEWIND DALE the vs number of the game changes?

I am not sure if Mayb should POST a new topic for this one....Watchers Keep is both SoA and ToB.

Another interesting thing was I visited watchers keep during SoA
and I cast SHAPESHIFT into a greater Werewolf with CERND and HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
WiLd SurGe: Area Effect my whole party turned into GreaTeR WeReWolFs!!!!!!!!
now I don't know what can beat that but BONUS to STR, DEX, CONS + BONUS to ARMOUR CLASS for everyone as well as having their *normal* abilities! ROCKS big time! But after a while I could only justify having me main character the barbarian stay that way she still had the shapeshift back into a Human icon there within her abilities button! I was not sure whether the blindness had anything to do with that???

Does anyone else had anything really powerful happen with WiLd SurGe?

Might want to do a little browsing for "best wild surges" over on the ToB forum. After all, wild surges are a part of a ToB-only kit and a ToB-only area.

Get Dundee to tell you sometime about the spider-o-matic.

Baldurdash will not change your version number because it's not an official patch. It's a pack of home-made bugfixes coded by very talented and committed players. So the only way to see if it is installed is to install it again and see if it overwrites existing files

I have been to the site and was very reluctant to do it when I saw this:

"IMPORTANT: None of these files should be installed on top of the Throne Of Bhaal expansion! As well, if you are planning on installing Throne Of Bhaal, it does (and is supposed to) replace the Game Text Update completely."

Actually now I don't think that I installed this patch...Is it possible to revert back to what the game was b4 by uninstalling the baldurdash patch
and also which one is it suppose to b?
FixPack v3.61?
Got another qn now...
This is the 2nd time ToB in the middle of combat has crashed completely out of the game or became frozen 'game is not responding'
R the *official* patches suppose to have fixed this?

Runs around the forum screaming, because somebody obviously has not read the FAQ regarding about ToB fixpacks yet.

Note To Self: Consider writing the FAQ's title in ALL-CAPSLOCK.

Refer to the FAQ for more details on the fixpacks.
