Another thing to consider.
Rogues don't get that many skill points. If a Blade had grandmastery in longswords, he really wouldn't be a Blade. A Blade is skilled in anything and everything that he can make look flashy and spectacular. He can pick up bastard swords, maces, flails, longswords, etc, in the SoA portion, he can gain a rather good variety of weapons. With Mislead, THAC0 is pointless. If you cast it, and leave it off someplace safe, all hits while misled are autohits. Add in Offensive Spin and the autohit feature, and you get Kensai like abilities. Every hit connects, every hit does huge damage, just about every hit makes a kill. In situations where Mislead is of little use, there is always Tensors, which can drive your THAC0 down to crazy low levels and bring your life close to 250 or so. Personally, the important thing for your young Blade is importing him from BG1. Starting out with a natural 19 strength makes you a monster from the get go, and having DUHM can make you God on the battlefield. Armed with the correct weapons, like for example The Equilizer offhand (For both charm protection and the extra damage gets added to both hands along with high strength damage... OUCHIE) and then something interesting in the main hand like Celery Fury or the Flail of Ages. When I want to apply sheer brutal mind numbing damage quickly, I personally like Equilizer and Kundane. Add in Offensive Spin and you have your own spell slinging bar room singing Kensai. |
