"Can't be dualed" would definitely address the thief UAI potential exploit, and considering the idea behind the character, it makes sense. Then again, using that same logic, the singlemindedness of the Sword Saint should prevent him from changing class, too...

I think Legolas is getting pretty close, though -2 to WIS is hardly a disadvantage to anyone except a cleric in this game.

The image I get of a Deathbringer is a large guy in black armor, blood dripping from his axe or greatsword, on the nature of Frazetta's Death Dealer.

Maybe a large guy like that should get a penalty to his DEX, which would also help restrict his AC, a disadvantage that would actually come into play?

Possibly if you give him a bonus to saves vs. mental spells, you could give him a penalty to physical damage spells?

Can't use any weapon whose non-magical max base damage is less than 8 HP? Which would "limit" him to long sword, bastard sword, two-handed, katana, halbard, morning star (but not flail), battleaxe, ninja-to, scimitar... that's all I can think of offhand.

Maybe prevent him from dual weilding? Belm or Scarlet Ninja-To in the off-hand is just too sweet if every swing of the primary hand gives a chance of Deathbringer Attack.

Though there are no cool deathdealer shields I can think of, it is hard to imagine him without one, if only to carve notches in. Maybe he can only use large shields. Not a disadvantage, but fits an image.
