*ahem* *ahem* back to the Ring of Gaxx.....

I don't think it would be possible to really implement the "Damage when removed" property of the Ring, as the Infinity Engine only recognizes when an item is put on, not taken off. It would be much simpler to simply make it a Cursed item, making it a real pain in the ass to swap in other Rings when you needed them, and things like passing Gaxx around to heal your whole party would become a thing of the past.

The 3rd Edition Gaxx quite simply wouldn't work in BG2. Think about it: What would happen if Aerie was wearing it when it suddenly granted her the ability to fly? You'd never see her again! (And for those who don't like Aerie, you'd never see your Ring of Gaxx again, either.)
