Gangrell- Well, honestly I don't know, I just used this name with one of my BG characters once, and I've been fond of it ever since. (Though originally I went with Gangrel, but my registration got screwed up)

Well, I first started using 'Exxon' for some years ago, before I knew what it was. I had heard it somewhere, and thought it sounded cool, so I started using it on my characters, and on internet-communities.
Originally, I did not want that name here, because by that time I had figured out what Exxon really was ( ). If I had gotten it the way I wanted, I'd be known as Aragorn to you. That's because I had just finished reading LotR for the second time at that time, and was really into it.
But then, Aragorn was already taken, so I just went for Exxon here as well, plus that I added a 'Lord' in front of it. Later, during the short periode where we could change our names, I switched the 'Lord' to 'Sir' - it was during the Keldorn's Order-"era".

And what is Exxon in the end?

Vedran is... ahhh... my first name. That was a time when I couldn't make an original nick.
Vedran is not-so-frequent croatian name, its meaning is connected with adjectives: serene, clear; bright; fair; cheerful; unruffled, unperturbed.

I use Zvijer on other forums, and it will probably stay like that. Zvijer=Beast .

Bardan the Slayer was a insane, psychotic murderer controlled by a demon in his axe, Snaga.

Later the axe would pass to Druss, his grandson, who banished the demon from the axe and became the greatest hero in Drenai history.

In the rather well-known White Wolf role playing game Vampire: The Masquerade (the stuff all the goths play) Gangrels is one of the different clans of vampires. Gangrels are kinda the animal/nature/ranger kind of vampires.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

Talking about names I just remember the first real nickname that I used on the internet and still use it in my ICQ... I'm sitting here being bored on a saturday evening so I might as well tell the short little story about that nickname:

When I was 10 years old gameboy was very popular and some of my friends brought their gameboys to school... Well, I never had a gameboy, don't actually thought about getting one if I can remember correctly, but due to this gameboy-hysteria me and a friend decided to make ourselves gameboys out of wood in wood-shop (is that the correct word? I'm from Sweden and though my english is quite OK I am not certain if that is the correct word). We took some pieces of wood and sawed them into fitting sizes and glued some buttons on it and with a burning-pencil (hehe, can't even come up with the right word in Swedish... a pen with a metalpoint that is heated up so you can burn-write on wood) we drew the screen and details. On the screen I drew a little guy with a smily for a face and wrote the name Gurto on the "cartridge" on the backside of the gameboy (which i called träboy, trä meaning wood in Swedish) and so the name Gurto was invented. I later wrote severel stories about him and developed his character into a UZI-wielding mafia-boss that went through lots of adventures... I get all nostalgic just writing about it )

I have no idea how I came up with the name Gurto, don't think I have ever heard it before either... So if anyone has heared about that word/name before please tell me where, could be fun to know if my subconscious took it from some certain place.

Maybe this was a little bit offtopic, but I just had to write it down when we were talking about nicknames...

Since I'm still kinda new here, I'll just waddle my way into this topic and pretend I know what I'm saying.

605 is a kinda hard nickname to explain, but it helps to say that it's normally pr0ject605. Not a D&D nickname really, just something I associate with a lot when making aliases. It's just something I go by because whenever I create anything (being someone who's always painting, drawing, making cds and tapes, writing, all kindsa stuff) I number it, and I dunno why, but I have this feeling 605 is going to be a really important one. Maybe it'll be the book I finally sell! *hope hope* I actually debated changing my name to a more D&D type name... there was a character in a Dragonlance book I read... can't remember which, but his name was Ravenshadow, and I always loved that name. I've had various characters I've really loved, or just loved their names; Tarison the half drow mage, Chandra the love crazy bard, Takari the hengeokai (sp?) oriential mage (who was female, so I don't use that name much ) But certain names I've really liked, it's just this one I relate to a lot more... and it's what the majority of my friends call me so *happy dance* There you have it.

Desuma Malevois was the name of an old Tunnels & Trolls character of mine. I use it because my real name, Mike Thomas, and its permutations are common enough that it's difficult to make a user ID out of it on some BBs. "Desuma" is an anagram of "medusa", and "Malevois" is a kind of bastardized way of saying "evil eye". In the game that I played, Desuma was a gorgon wizardress.
