Sounds like a smart idea.

I had a pretty confusing conversation with my mum today.

Mum - I like Zoril (my boyfriend).
Me - Me too.
Mum - I'm glad, I'd be worried if you didn't considering you've been with him, what, two and a half years?
Me - About that, yeah.
Mum - Aah, young love... I was with your dad for less time than that before we got married, you know.
*Me with a slightly confused expression*
Mum - Not that I'm saying you should get married.
Me - Err, I'm a student. I'm poor. It's not going to happen.
Mum - Oh.... Okay then. Pity.
*silence*
Mum - Have you thought about the future? You know, marrying him and having kids?
Me - ..... We agreed we'd like to get llamas.

Apparantly that wasn't the response she was expecting. I then managed to get her onto the subject of which would be better, llamas or alpacas.

I'm still confused about if she wants me to get married though...

I'd rather have alpacas than kids though. You can make some money off them at least by selling the wool.

Well, you could start with Alpaca's and when you think you're making enough decide then if you want kids or not. Just remember, sons and daughters = free labor after the first 7-10 years, especially in farming and livestock.

Howdy all! I'll have a Celebratory Special thanks!

Having a great day today. I applied for a job on Tuesday morning, had an interview this (wednesday) morning at 7:30 am and got a job offer by 9:30! Needless to say the interview went well!

Am really stoked as I have had my current job for only a short time (like 6 weeks) and know it is not right for me, so am so happy to get something better so fast. It pays a little less, but the opportunities etc well make up for it. AND as I am still in my 'probationary period' I only need to give one weeks notice, so can start at the new place soon as!

I know this recession is biting pretty hard for some, so i consider myself exceptionally lucky to have been able to get this new job.

Now I just need to win the lottery and today will REALLY rock (and the new job will be irrelevant...)

Hey DS mums are confusing - on one hand they want you to do well academically and build a carrer with a strong future then on the other hand they want you to be married and have kids straight away.

Thankfully my kids are only 10 and 11 so I don't have to confuse them just yet.

I'm only 19
But yeah, you have a few years yet before you have to start thinking up ways to confuse and horrify them. In the mean time, I hope you're doing what my dad does and embarrass me at every opportunity. I hear it is an important part of growing up...

PS. My RSI is back. Huzzah. Just as I would get a load of inspiration to write.

No time like the present to start.

They want you to have kids 'cause.... well grandkids are the greatest invention ever. If'n I'd have know how much fun grandkids are I'd have skipped kids and gone straight to grand kids.

If I recall, the purpose of grandchildren is to dump obscene amounts of sugar into them mere moments before returning them to their parents and enjoy the ensuing chaos. At least, that's if my grandparents were any indication.
