I agree, Larry. Unfortunately, the hype surrounding the multi-play features of the game is only adding to many people's frustration as it was the primary reason for a number of folks to purchase the game in the first place and is precisely the multi-play feature that seems to be completely inaccessible for a good number of these users.
At any rate, hopefully we'll be able to figure something out and then we can have some conversation devoted more to roleplaying than troubleshooting Although, I am beginning to wonder whether or not I should think about creating something like a multi-classed 15th level game designer/10th level network specialist *LMAO* |

Okay, in the game instructions for setting up the server, I misread one sentence that may make the difference. It says that if a DM password is entered, then only players with this password can connect to the game server with the DM client. Well, I had a password set there where I was trying to learn how to do a DM game. Since this is not a DM game, I should not have the password set, as that may be the cause of login problems.
Well, I know that on the Advanced Options menu, there is a admin. server password. What is that for? I don't have to use it to get on the game...so...who does? I have a password set in it...should I also remove it? By the way, I have the game running, so if anybody wants to try to log on, let me know, and I will send you the password. Cyril, use the same password...but the server name is now Nightblades' Guild Hold on...I just crashed when I toggled from IW, back to the game. ~sigh~ Alright...I have an evil child to take care of for a few minutes. I had to turn the game off, and will probably have to reboot to get it to work right. Anyway, let me know when we can test run it, tonight. [ 07-12-2002, 06:27 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

My MSN messenger name is larry@tgeweb.com
I have added Mistral, Cyril, and Deiter into the group Nightblades on my contact list. Now, all I have to do is learn how to have all of us in chat at once. Any of you know how to do that? [ 07-12-2002, 06:47 PM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

Name: Khili Woodshadow Class: Bard Level: 4 Equipment: +1 Studded Leather Armor, Longsword, Longbow ( This is subject to change) My new character is now level 4. Soooo... One more level and I'll get Khili up here. Presuming we don't all just crash and burn tomorrow evening. I know Deiter's having troubles even getting the game to start, and I haven't even made an attempt at multi-player yet, soooooooooo... *Cutesy little voice* Who's a buggy game? Who's a buggy game? My MSN Messenger is acolsnobe@yahoo.com
I tried playing the game normally (single-player) but with my broadband connection on. Well, after a while, it kind of crashed I daren't think of what will happen if I go multi-player tomorrow, but I guess one can only hope and pray Whatever it is, those who can proceed with the game should do so, and not wait up for me. I'll try to make my way there... somehow... As for my characters, I have 3-4 of them currently that have passed the prelude stage: 1. Eilonwy - Human Sorceress (level 4, I think) 2. Svetlana - Elf Sorceress (level 6, not 8 ) 3. Some paladin (level 3/4) 4. Mistral - Human Fighter (level 4, not yet multi-ed into sorceress but probably too late unless I can accept XP penalties ) So what'll it be?? I've personally grown attached to the elf sorceress but if you want, I can pick any of the rest. Just let me know by today what ya'll want |

Success! Finally, we got somewhere tonight! Spree's dad tried for a long time to help me find his game, and I cold not. Finally, I set my game up and he found it immediately! There are some issues. When we were typing out conversation, sometimes the keys would become hot-keys, and would effect the game, like save, item menu, etc. I think it had something to do with typing upper-case letters, not sure. Anyway, we tested our game out by running amock in the streets, killing everything that moved! We wiped out the city with two chars! Anyway...we got it to work. Tomorrow, I will talk with each of you again.
Mistral...use whatever you want. I hope Deiter is able to get online. Spree is guaranteed. That makes four of us if you do not have trouble. |

Right now, I will make a quick scan within my saved games to see if there's a lower level sorceress somewhere If not... ah well, I'll see what I can do |

Okay, last night when Spree's dad logged on, the game defaulted him as the party leader. I read that the person that is hosting the game is the party leader, so I was thoroughly confused. He was able to transefer leadership to me, however. My assumption is that the game may default the highest level member as leader. He was a level 10 Monk, I beleive.
I will turn the game on in about 10 minutes from now and let it run, "unmanned", so that you all can practice logging on. The game saves automatically I think, every few minutes. I will try to work on how and when that is done. let us all know here that you successfully did it, so we don't worry about you. Each of you will be sent by PM messaging here on IW the log-in information. Do not share it with anyone that is not allowed in the game, or you will be terribly punished. Some of you already know it, but just in case you have lost it...I am taking precautions. Am I forgetting anything? [ 07-13-2002, 08:16 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |

I DID IT!!!! WOOHOO!!!!
I went in there, saw ol' Larry hanging around with a bored expression on his face and summoned my panther to play with him. But what did he do? He just continued to stand there idling around It took a lot of willpower not to take a swing at you, but well, I did it, too Let me know if the game saved both characters (inclusive of panther), Larry. Psst... you know I'm just pulling your leg, don't you? ( just in case ) |
