The tough thing is knowing which murderers can be redeemed by therapy and which murderers cannot. I do think a lot of people who have murdered can be rehabilitated, it depends on the murderer of course. Most murderers like serial killers though, like Dahmer, Gacy, the Night Stalker, etc., in my opinion, cannot be rehabilitated. No doubt, to just keep them out of society, in prison, is a good thing so they cannot murder more people, I'm all for that. But should we take care of them?
But of course redemption is the quandry, and of course, as I said, in my opinion these types, the serial killers and such, can't be redeemed, they are totally set in their evil. And, in thinking about it, this other part of me thinks, maybe if they got a bit of what they gave out to their victims, they'd see what it was like, and perhaps rethink things, before they breathed their last breath. I know that probably sounds really harsh LOL, and perhaps unfeeling for humanity. But its just that so many evil sick people are able to milk the judicial system, pretending to be sorry for their crimes, as an attempt to get out, so they can go back into the public and carry on their crimes. Not to mention those like OJ (no don't want to open that big bag o' shite just sayin) can walk the planet unscathed because he had money, getting away with slitting two people's throats. Arrggg, so many differing thoughts I have on both ends of this subject... I mean, why should we keep some serial killer, who admits he loves to kill, killing is all he wants to do, is all he thinks about, no therapists or psychiatrist can change him, they been working on him for years... what do we do with this guy then? Just us taxpayers keep paying to keep him locked up so he can't be free to kill us? Provide him with a spa and a TV in his cell etc. so he's living a life more luxurious than some low income upstanding citizens? So he doesn't have to work, just sits about all day watching the tube? No rent or paying for food or anything, while the rest of us work our asses off to make a living?! I dunno, again I have mixed feelings re the subject. I'd love for every murderer to be rehabilitated, to see the error of their ways, learn from it, become a better person. I believe in forgiveness believe it or not. But I'm just mainly talking about those that do not change, that are set in hate and killing, why should we keep them alive? Those that cannot be rehabilitated, what then should we do with them? And yes, every Action had a Reaction, so all of us have to remember that in life on every level, even for simple things in our lives. If you strive to hurt someone else, whether it be emotionally or physically, and you succeed, do not be surprised if bad luck falls upon you, as all things have a way of balancing out. Tis why we all should just love eachother, be friends, because nothing can go wrong if we all held that concept. |
