American Football or Rugby [img]smile.gif[/img] That's what they call it over here. Actually the term soccer is wrong, because American Football is newer than soccer IIRC.

In Denmark it is football (the european version, where you normally use your feet). The American version (where you normally use your hands) is called American football. The version they play in England (besides soccer) is called rugby and finally the Australian version is called Australian rugby.
Question: How can you name a game 'football', when in +95% of the time the players are using their hands? [img]graemlins/greenbounce.gif[/img] Insane

Exactly. We (people of the Netherlands) use exactly the same terms, but I think we call Australian football by the term they use over there, namely "Aussie rules" (am I correct [img]graemlins/1ponder.gif[/img] )

Aussie rules is for AFL (australian football league)
we have other variations though and the rugby varients, strange i've never heard it called australian foolball as in the whole football system thinggy. Also is the word soccer used to describe well... soccer in europe? |
