1984-The birth of the transformers. 'Course I wasn't born yet but it was an act that would be a constant theme throughout my entire life.
Zuvio, it may seem tempting but $178 is a bit steep for the Predacons. HasTak are really ripping people of with these reissues! I recommend picking them up individually off eBay. |

Seriously, the 80's were a mish-mosh of different sounds with radio and tv (MTV) trying to pick out the next "sound". What I remember from the 80's was the birth of MTV and when it actually had music videos (late 80's, with Headbangers' ball!!!!) instead of the reality CRAP that is the main theme of their programming now. The movies had some good (Breakfast Club and Lost Boys, for example), some bad; and hairbands with the guys who use aquanet or other hair spray and when I talk about hairbands the one that comes to mind with the awesome first (and really only REAL) tape they had, Guns -n- Roses Appetite for destruction We have the 80's behind us, but some memories are very nice to bring out and dust them off for a minute. Yeah Predaking altogether has always been one of the more expensive auctions, the trick is to try and get him from his individual parts.
Though in terms of convinience I guess it's better forking out the dough for the reissue. |

Musically the 80's were the black hole of the 20th century. A whole endless list of 'rock'(which was more like pop than anything else) and pop consisting of playback and cliches and some of the simplest musical compositions EVER.
The hairdoes and fashion was abhorrent. It was the height of the 'divided' culture, with the jocks and nerds and richboys etc. Which was and is disgusting. Saved by the bell, eww. Looking back at the cartoons and kidstuff, only the dutch things were great like Villa Achterwerk and Rembo&Rembo. The rest was cheap crap.
