Really? Which death spell did they remove? There are several of them in the spell list.

P.S. The more I hear about this patch, the more glad I am I never installed it.

THE Deathspell: lvl 6 Deathspell. Kills all creatures with 6 DC or less (I think, maybe 10) and automatically kills ALL summons. From BG2.

Okay, you must mean they took out the Circle of Death spell. That kills anything less than 9th level. I never bothered with this one myself. You need to be 11th or 12th level by the time you can take it, and I figured by then, you won't be up against anything less than 9th level anyway.

But, if they nuked this spell, then maybe I've been missing something. Hmmm...

Thanks for the info.

If what youre saying is true, agreed, disintegrate is good.
Just confirmed it. It works quite well in chapter 4 w/o destroying equipment. And incidentally, the, um, large creatures towards the end/halfway through of chapter 3 (I'm avoiding the spoiler...let's just say that they're surrounded by their smaller cousins) seem to have really bad fortitude throws, seeing as how disintegrate worked very, very well against them Disintegrating them and chromatic orbing their smaller cousins made that fight a cakewalk.
Yup we weren't fighting. I just play with a dogma: No summonings, no bows, no stealth, in all my CRPGs, and sometimes expect everybody to be like me

I don't summon either, but it's just because I don't like them.

Recently I have been trying to use summons a little, but I still don't like summons.

True enough, animated deaders are like having extra tanks in a party, but solo sorcerers NEED the summons. If only to get the time to obliterate the enemy.

The main reason I don't summon, is that I am usually playing good characters, and I refuse to summon undeads or demons. The regulars summons are not worth it in my opinion.
