if you getting that mario, sure enough i may want to stay in your house just to play doom 3 . fx5900 is cool and more than enough to play DOOM3 and farcry. mine is only fx5200 which barely gives me decent graphics for it. bah!

Definately Memsie-boy.
It is a good and solid graphicscard. (I do have one myself, and I play Doom3 and FarCry without any greater glitches) With this card and good RAM you should be able to play most games at a nice setting to see alo of the goodies they can offer. I realized that I have to invest in a better monitor to really get anything exeptional out of a 6800 card or for that matter the comming 6600 card, unless speed of the game is the only advantage. But as I said, a good card, you need an electric connector available though, or just get a dividing thingee that helps you out. No big deal.

Hi Wolfie, what dividing thingie? Surely you don't mean the connector to the power supply?

I will get a Sapphire 9600xt with 256mb of memory tomorrow, unless the shipping is late. about time, my old graphic card is a geforce 2mx i don't know what to say about the new geforce cards since i haven't read too much about them. |

Don't! Get one with 128MB, preferably Fireblade. 256 MB is way to much for that particular chip, and it only slows down the acces time by some 45%. That card will almost never need 256 MB, it's an actual performance degrader. In no test was the 256 MB card faster than the 128 MB one. I have a 9600 XT w/ 128MB RAM and a friend has one with 256MB. I tried both cards in my machine and my card won in 3D Mark 2003 by 100 points, and in Far Cry by 5 FPS. Just so you know.
And for Memnoch, that card is great! I myself would try and scrounge up a 5950 because it's faster memory and clock, and it's stealthier. Just my 2 cents.

i see.
Too bad a Fireblade hasn't got VGA+DVI-I+TV-OUT as the 9600xt. is there any difference when it comes to choosing club 3d or sapphire brand? my order seems to get delayed so i still got time to change it. I saw that they got CLUB 3D R9600 XT 128MB VGA+DVI-I+TV in stock in the webshop i'm buying from and it's a cheaper card too. |

Club 3D is the cheap re-seller of older stuff. It's a money solution, but I'd advise against it unless you're trying to save money.
