BTW,
Where are the boots of speed, roughly. As in, which area. I don't want too much info.

The boots of speed are found in the Unseeing eye quest, in the final task for the Avater. They are in an optional area in this section.

quote: Really? Could you tell me where they are? I thought that you could only get two pairs of boots of speed in SoA, these being in the planar prision on one of the mercenaries, the others from the milrith token machine in the spellhold dungeon. Don't forget that the boots of speed don't only increase movement rate, but they also provide an additional 1/2 attack per round! If your character was fighting at 5/2, they would attack 3 times using the boots. They do not raise attacks if your are already attacking a whole number of times, i.e. attacking 3 times and wearing the boots *would not* make you attack 7/2. Confusing I know. They are cool when coupled with the gauntlets of extra. spec. because its possible to gain a whole extra attack with them. EDIT: Heartseeker is definately a good bow, but I prefer strong arm, because you get +3 damage instead of +2, and to hit really ins't an issue at higher levels [ 11-21-2001: Message edited by: Jim ] |

Another note about the heartseeker (and some other bows too), you'll need a high strength to use it. If you're not planning on getting the bestest warhammer in the game, you can use the gauntlets of ogre power (planar sphere) and/or the girdle of strength, though you'll have to wait a while to get the latter.
Otherwise, you can use one of the other girdles of strength. And the Elvencourt +3 is in the D'arnise keep, it's a very good get-you-by while you are awaiting the finding of the heartseeker |

How does an Archer damage dragons? Take the Heartseeker +3 that everyone suggests, load up on +2 arrows and you can do a whopping 0 damage on every shot! Hurrah!
Do solo Archers just dual wield some melee weapons, or is there a way to damage things with bows before ToB and the Taralash?
