problem with me is that i only trust a few people. are you saying that if i trust more people that i wont have such an insecurity complex? because if thats the solution, i think i'll take the disease... cant trust everyone, or most people because theyll stab me in the back for the price of an Extra Value Meal...

It's simple. Once the Planet is hurt, it gathers Spirit Energy to heal the injury. The amount of energy gathered depends on the size of the injury...What would happen if there was an injury that threatened the very life of the Planet? Think how much energy would be gathered! Ha, ha, ha. And at the center of that injury, wil be me. All that boundless energy will be mine. By merging with the energy of the Planet, I will be come a new life form, a new existence. Melding with the Planet, I will cease to exist as I am now. Only to be reborn as a 'God' to rule over every living soul.

Sephiroth - If you have said the above in a joking fashion, please forgive me for the following sermon, but if you haven't, please listen carefully:

In is a dangerous road you are travelling there, I know, I have been there. While you are correct, that self-confidence in people does unfortunately not correlate at all with their level of intellevtual brilliance or their skill level in any particular area, reacting to your own inscurity and lack of self-esteem by retreating into cozy realm of intellectual arrogance and vanity ("Oh, I am just too smart for the others, thus misunderstood, etc ..") is just the worst possible thing you can do.

Insecurity as a character trait - and not just a temporary consequence of a personal crisis or of being a teenager - is a true problem and a nasty lifelong companion, something one has to learn to deal with. Just as someone who is not very smart will have to accept the fact that he/she will always have to work harder when studying and learning things that are intellectually challenging, an insecure person will have to come to terms with the fact that he/she will always have to make an extra effort to overcome those insecurties when dealing with situations in a social context and especially in the relations with the opposite sex.

And btw, while it is tue that many smart people are also insecure, insecurity is not a sign of intellectual brilliance and vice versa: there are many very intelligent human beings that are also self-confident.

Thanks for bearing me out !

Sephiroth I'm sorry, I was only joking when I said we were losers. I'm not, and I'm sure you're not. I hope I haven't contributed to your insecurities

Before you can trust others, you have to learn to trust in yourself. Hold yourself with pride and know that who you are is who you are. Believe me, I had to learn that the hard way. When you find self-confidence, you gain charisma that lets people know that you are for real. Whoever it was that posted that you can't look for someone to be dependent upon and/or you can't look for someone you can be dependent upon, they hit the mark. You both have to be in the relationship for each other, not one-sided. As for not talking to the girl, I ask why not? I let someone walk away from me when I was in high school and I regret it to this day. If you don't voice a feeling, you don't learn anything from it. If you voice it and it doesn't work, then at least you can say you tried.

Bahamut: You have made a great addition to this board and I feel special to have known you. Love the poems even if I haven't had the time to respond to you lately.
