I always take my tea plain. I think that cream and sugar destroys the delicate taste. I will have to look for Jasmine now that you've mentioned it!

I love to cook - always have. My mum never much enjoyed it (although she had some classic dishes which she did really well, she just hated it) and my dad could cook well but often worked long hours, so I used to cook regularly as a kid because I loved it so much. Much to my mum's relief.
I'm veggie now, have been for a few years, and I have enjoyed adapting some of my favorite recipes and trying new ones. Some people say that you're limiting your range of experience being veggie, but it is also a good challenge - still plenty of great ingredients and dishes to try! Indian dishes are some of my favorite, Turkish and Greek too. Anyone tried Baklava or Konafi? Turkish sweets are heavenly! Full of honey and nuts and flavored with rose water. And as for tea! Being English, I am very used to drinking Indian or Sri Lankan black tea with milk (practically raised on the stuff!) which is not to everyone's taste, but I enjoy it. I also enjoy any tea without milk. I would recommend Lapsang Soushong (sp?) if you have never tried it. A very distinctive taste - drink it black, unsweetened. My personal favorite black tea is Assam - I find Darjeeling a bit mild. Green tea is great, especially with some fresh mint leaves added to the pot, with a little sugar or honey. Herbal teas too! (there really is no tea I won't try). Chamomile is one of my favorites, although it is an 'acquired taste' - very strange until you get used to it, but it is very relaxing. Lime Blossom tea is good for controlling blood pressure and tastes very nice. ------------------ Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. Epona of The Laughing Hyenas |

I love 'Veggie' food! I'm not a 'veggie' But I have worked these dishes into my diet.
I work out and keep fat out of my diet as much as possible. One thing that amazes me is that if you have a good base in culinary knowledge, you can make anything taste good. I love how clean vegetarian food leaves you feeling! ------------------ Proud new member of LH! |
