Kynnen 117/117

The bell is rung. No doubt the whole castle is under alarm now. Kynnen opted to attack the guard that just attacked him with a crossbow. He chose a running pattern to run beside the man, staying away from him, and using the halberd's longer range to swing at him from the side.

Guard #1
The guard did not conceive where the drow was going. He thought he was running toward the door instead of fighting, and so the guard opted to charge him, but then found the halberd cutting into him. It had been a trick! He screamed and leaped back, pulling his sword up in defence to another attack.

The Bell ringer had now stopped and now had his sword out, ready to block an attack from the polearm.

OOC>>>I finally built your character into my NWN mod, Bozos.

Morguerat

Seeing the effect his words had had on Larry, Morguerat followed him up, keeping his distance, his charge was not yet fulfilled, and many questions were yet to be answered.

Kynnen 117/117

Kynnen stopped a dozen feet behind the man, and readied his halberd again. He brought the blade up, to see the blood, and then smiled wickedly at seeing the gash in the guard's stomach. He feinted to the left, right, and then jumped and turned the halberd to strike downward at the guard's shoulder, intent on rending his arm from his body.

OOC: Great then! So... what does that actually mean?

The guard

The guard was holding his gut from the previous attack with one hand and was in near panic. He was swiping at the halberd as it came near, each time from the left and right were feigns, but he relentlessly beat at each lunge to protect his life. Finally, the halberd came crashing down...

...only to be stopped short by the other guard's sword. The bell-ringer was in the mix now, valiantly trying to save the other man's life and buy them both some time.

Just then, two guards came through the doors that opened up from the Left Wing. They wore the markings on their jackets to denote their higher rank. Another guard came from the outside front entrance, bearing a crossbow. This one took aim, but waited for the right moment.

OOC>>>Five guards are now in the room, and two of them are elite soldiers. Four have swords and one has a crossbow. One man is moderately injured, and bleeding.

OOC>>>It means that I have your character built in a visual perspective now, along with everybody else's that is playing...and can more effectively DM.

Silt 80/80

Silt was briefly fascinated with Morgeurat's tail. The fellow seemed to be in the same sort of position as himself, but with a much closer link to Larry. Maybe he would find out more later.

Following the Inquisitor Silt kept silent, wondering what Marcos had up his sleeve; wondering if he would have to fight; wondering...there was so much that was unknown right now.

Kynnen 117/117

Kynnen looked around, to quickly count up the newly arrived guards, and to change his stance. He looked at the man with the crossbow, and tried to put the injured guard on the path of the bolt, to give himself cover. Kynnen placed the head of the halberd on the ground, and the blade face up, to be ready to slash anyone coming near him, as well as to defend himself. The fight has changed odds in a matter of seconds, but Kynnen was still intent on not letting any man leave this room alive. The halberd's range comforted him in the new situation.

OOC: I thought something like that it was, just had to make sure.

Andrion Wilgor 60/60

He nodded at Nanashi's words.

"The more we help him the faster we get to Larry, and killing the pesky ranger shall surely be a great pleasure."

Then as the sounds of the battle came out of the room Andrion cast Contingency. He then went to the entrance to the room and watched for a few seconds as new guards arrived. He smiled, wondering whether the drow really could handle it alone or not. Not he decided and cast Haste on Kynnen.

The mage took off his amulet and appeared to the drow. Yet the effects of his two spells could also be seen on him. He seemed as if he were a statue in a blue globe. (OOC: stoneskin+globe of invulnerability)
For Andrion: Sorry, but I had been waiting for this very slip up! This is the last mention of your amulet and the spells that you have cast upon your persona. I have to go with what is written.

The five guards thought they only had the drow to worry about, but then the crossbowman in the rear noticed that a 'statue contained within a blue globe' had just walked into the room to join its accomplice. Must be that mage everyone is talking about he thought.

He took aim and fired. The bolt sailed through the air and found its mark, but bounced harmlessly off of the mage's protective magical skin of stone. The crossbowman began to rearm.

Andrion Wilgor 60/60

The crossbow bolt totally surprised Andrion. Then he remembered that he had removed his amulet so as to talk to the drow. Damn - he thought to himself as he stepped sideways from the doorway and began fishing in his pocket for his amulet. Finally he found it and reattached it around his neck.
