Morguerat

A brief flash of anger crosses the eyes of the former paladin. "As far as I'm concerned you could still be as great a threat as your other self, don't mistake my wanting to see you live to face justice as friendship. While you may not be the modding mage, you still opened the door for him, and in the process destroyed Keldorn's order, one of the original clans of this board, The ranger protectors also fell beneath your boot, and none with power to stand against deprivation roam these boards. Those with the ability have migrated to this thread already." Morguerat's eye dart to Plaxica and then back to Larry. "Watch your step and stay alive, that's the biggest favor you can do for all your past crimes against me and those I once held dear."

Morguerat set himself next to the passage to wait for the others to disappear down it before he himself would go.

Larry Silverfall 13/13

Larry dropped his head in shamed silence. He could feel himself tearing up already, and decided to just go the way he was supposed to go. To this tower where he was to go alone. Why...he did not know. This odd duchess must be a powerful mage or cleric or something, he supposed. He wiped his tear away and turned around, escaping quickly out the door they had come in and running down the corridor that was to lead to a very long staircase upward.

When he came to the stairs, he wanted to look back...to see if anybody was watching him...but decided to just go. Up and up he went, running at first, but he could not endure the entire ascension that way. When he became winded, he stopped for only a brief moment, before trying to walk quickly up the rest of the way. His legs ached and his chest hurt from such heavy breathing. Once upon a time, he would have been able to run the entire length of these stairs with no worry.

Onward he climbed. Why could his friends not come with him? He wished that he was not so alone.

Plaxica 16/70

In a sudden flash Plaxica was gone and an owl was in his place. Plaxica sniffed the air in his owl form during a few seconds and then shifted back.

"They are still some way away. Their scent is weak. Let us go." - he said and he entered the passageway.

Nanashi

She looked at the drow, standing there as if he were frozen. She turned to Andrion in anger, shadow-speaking.

"Why does he not move! Tell him he owes you this forrr his frrreedom! We arrre losing prrrecious time!"

For Larry

The room was cluttered with boxes, crates and dusty chairs. With the low light illuminating not nearly as much as it should, a light tread was called for.
Once all of the group had passed through, the final guard in line swung the wall shut. The stairs at the far end were narrow, but not as dulled as elsewhere. They certainly did not wear from overuse.

Rising continuously, ever winding around a single central column, the stairs rose to great heights. Every second turn for five floors, they opened up into a large chamber. First of these was the ballroom, where Kenden and Vincent were waiting. Larry had run past them in a blur, not even stopping to notice them.
Next came the grand dining room, where all larger meals were taken. The inquisitor was headed here, but for Larry it would not be the end of his climb.
Another room held works of art, maps, and hefty tomes. It was uses for education and the flaunting of wealth. A fireplace served as the focus, coaxing people closer with comfortable warmth.
Higher still was found the war room, where strategies were planned by the most cunning of generals the region had to offer. They had all gone now, taking with them many of the instruments that filled the area.
The fifth floor was entirely empty but for an inch of dust on all surfaces. Old footprints were disturbed by Silverfall's passing.

After, there were no more branches. The stairs seemed to angle, and lean in until it felt as though he were walking upside down, descending even as he defied gravity's pull. The windows and slits in the walls through which he might see a horizon were locked and blocked. Slowly, with each turn, the light started to fade...

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

" If I may have a moment as we go to mee tthe other's, I am going to mask Larry's passage, as well as make it a bit muddled for ours. " with that being said he reaches into a pouch and pull's out small tube around 4 inches' in length that is filled with what looks to be like talc powder. Pouring an amount to fill the palm of his hand he motioned for Kenden to move on. " This is a special mixture that I have made up that will throw off the best blood hounds in the forums and should have no problem with were beast's either. It lays out like a fine coating of dust that is all but imperceptable but will foul the senses of anything that relies on smell. Let's be off. "with that he quickly threw the powder up in a fan shape into the air.

In a place terribly close to the sky

The strips of cloth move outward along the winds in several directions and soon it is that the eye sees the silent man in several locations at once. Each form moves and the movement is swift. Each form moves and the movements are distinct. Once it was that none could match the graceful speed of his movement. Now it is that the grace has vanished for wounded limbs must learn to move without the luxury of grace. The speed remains, however, and the brutal efficiency of his movement makes it a thing even more terrible than it had been. And the forms of the man move with this same ruthless speed. And in the diverse hands of the forms are weapons and these weapons are made ready.

ooc: No need for an immediate reply, Larry. Just getting that up while I have a bit of time. BTW - I've left you some notes on this elsewhere.

Kynnen 117/117

Kynnen stood motionless, and eyed the two. It was obvious that they were comunicating with thoughts, much like the illythid, so he had no chance of hearing what they were saying. Andrion's suggestion, which had the feel of an order, was most likely harder than he made it look. They were both obviously stronger than Kynnen, and to ask him to lure out the guards was interesting. Perhaps they were not at their peaks of strength? Kynne chose to go in and do as he was told, for if nothing else, then to shed the blood of guards. maybe if the guards ended up fighting with the new unlikely allies, he would gain a detailed knowledge of their strengths. "I will go in. If someone comes out of the room, it is not me luring him out, he most likely escaped." Kynnen held the halberd with one hand on his shoulder, as he pushed the doors open and screamed "Draeval ulu el, kyorlen!", and stormed in, with the massive weapon being swung as he ran for the nearest guard.

OOC: Assuming the door is unlocked, and the room is actually packed with guards. Oh, and the translation for the drow is "time to die, guards!".

Andrion Wilgor 60/60

Andrion looked curiously at Kynnen, who thought that he could handle all of the guards. He looked at Nanashi and then spoke out loud:

"He has no armor, no protections, just a five foot long halberd and he thinks he can handle all those guards? I don't think he shall be able to. What do you say? Should we help him?"

Nanashi

"He's yourrr pet...do as you wish. If you want to help him...then help him!
You had betterrr hurrry, don't you think?"

Nanashi just stood there and smiled at the mage...but it was certainly not a smile of happiness or warmth, rather one of cleverness and taunting.

Two guards still stood at the doorway that led into the Left Wing. When they saw the escaped drow, one of the guards grabbed at the rope beside him and pulled, which sounded a large bell that alerted the entire Wing that the main chamber had fallen under attack. The other guard stood his ground in front of the rope-puller, holding his crossbow, taking aim.

"Halt! You will lay down your weapon immediately!!
Halt! Halt! I'll shoot you down! Halt!"

The guard could not wait any longer, and fired. The shot went wide, and was lost. He dropped his crossbow and grabbed his sword.

The bellman continued ringing the bell.
