Morguerat

Seeing as noone had seen fit to either ask his name, or address him, Morguerat walkd to the corner and pulled out some ink, a pen and the strange book, and began chronicling the events thus far, perhaps in the recording of things the fog that was everpresent in his mind would begin to lift.

ooc heh I got a mental image of a warhammer with "the duchess" carved on the head, meeting her would definitely not be fun...

Inquisitor Marcos of Snowdale - 98/98

"If you have witnessed this and covered the distance here, it may be wise to take the safer route then. Keep your ears open for sounds of danger."

The inquisitor made a sharp turn in front of yet another door, stepping inside rather than continuing down the corridor. A handful of guards escorting them ushered Larry, Plaxica and Morguerat through as well. The interior hardly came as a surprise, a half-full bookcase leaning against one wall, a stand of rusty armor in the corner, clutching a halberd tightly in the gloved fist. Another sturdy desk stood at the center, surrounded by a number of reasonably comfortable chairs. A landscape painting adorned the walls, containing two unlit scones. There seemed to be but one exit.

Marcos moved one of the chairs, and lifted part of the floor by a metal ring. Stairs led down into a passage too low to walk comfortably in.

"This will lead to a storage room where musical instruments are being kept. The room lies just below the ballroom. On the floor after, we shall reach the main dining room. Whilst mister Silverfall continues to the top of the tower, we shall strive to delay his pursuers there."

ooc: The warhammer does indeed have a name, but that's not it [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Vincent Pathfinder 98/98

Putting his armor back on carefully but quickly as the skills he had through many such doings came to life he had each pice in place and buckled before Kenden even had silts gear gathered. " I'm glad I thought about doing this earlier. " he said as he held up one of the silver tipped arrows. " We should take care with the were tiger, to kill her may bring the wrath of her goodly brother, he made a vow to her and was rather upset with me when I knocked her out. How are those net's, are they reinforced for capturing people or just ordinary gaming net's? " Restinging his bow he pulled out an arrow and knocked it while restfully holding it to the bow with his left hand. Gathering some of the other supplies helping Kenden out, but ready to drop it if need be to shoot.

"Now that we have a moment's breathing space I'd like to ask whether anyone has any healing magic. My...confrontation with the mage left me greatly wounded."

There were no visible wounds on his body, yet he did seem weak and his lips seemed parched.

Silt 80/80

Silt ran on lightly, arms full with equipment. Greeting the tall man he stood straight, handing over the equipment, "Hail and well met, I am Silt - traveller and companion of Larry Silverfall - at this present time; forgive me, but I have never seen you before, who are you?"

This man looked very knowledgable, scribilling something down on a notepad. Maybe he shared some of Silt's interests. He certainly seemed worth chatting too.

Looking up from his writings Morguerat stood and accepted the armor from Silt and clasped his hand. "Hail and well met, I am here as a protector of Larry, it would seem we are each the result of a fractured being, and my duty is guard him against his own shadowy side, and perhaps gain a measure of protection against my own. I'm called Morguerat, and at one time served Larry, before my betrayal of him cost me everything I hold dear. Now I simply try to live, and attempt to prove myself worthy of Helm's light again." He had been adjusting straps and buckles while he talked and had actually fitted the armor to himself, more or less, by the time he was finished talking.

Larry Silverfall 13/13

Larry was in a dream, it seemed. So many things were happening all around him...and all of it because of him. He felt guilty. The lives of the guards had been lost because of him. More lives would be lost. It seemed that the Mage of Shadow...that very dark essence that had once been the very Larry Silverfall in a previous thread of existance, would stop at nothing to murder its former host...probably out of fear that this good guy Larry might hold the key to the destruction of the evil shadow he had spawned.

He was trying to listen to all that was being said all around him, hearing that he was to ascend a tower...to meet a duchess he supposed...while the others escaped down a hidden floor exit. Then he overheard the man that saved him talking about one time serving him.

"Excuse me...sir...did you say that you once was employed by me? Did you mean...the Shadow version of me?"

Just then, Vincent found his way to this room by the directions Kenden gave him, with Vincent carrying Silt's gear. Kenden had already ran down to the ballroom as instructed with the nets.

OOC>>>Just so I don't have to write it into the story, let's suppose that Kenden already explained to Vincent that the nets are strong enough to hold any man or beast.

Larry Silverfall 13/13

Larry listened to the man explain how they knew each other from before. It was another case of somebody that had suffered because of him.

"I am sorry. I brought misery upon you. Thank you for whatever you did to stop...you know...whatever from happening."

Larry chuckles at something...

"I find it odd that you have now come to save the very man that hurt you. In such an odd fashion as well. Hopefully after all this, we can catch up on old times and you can maybe tell me about what I do not remember."

He looked toward the Inquisitor, especting him to shoo him away toward the tower at any moment.

Marcos lowered himself into the passage and walked on in a half-crouch, wordlessly expecting the others to follow him to the floor below the ballroom.
