Rhianneth

She could not speak.

Her mind was in a daze, and the waft of momentary horror thrust through her heart, causing her emit an involuntary gasp as she found herself face to face once more with her earlier captors.

Terrakis.

The one enemy that had proved resilient and impenetrable to all her taunts. The one foe who had kept her alive for some perverse reason.
The one creature who could crush her like an ant if he wished...

And it looked as if he was about to do so, to herself and Brendon.

She knew it was useless to fight this cowering, not so soon when she had been so abruptly transported away from the others, save Brendon. No, a few seconds had to pass so that she could regain that iron will that had pulled her through many a tight spot many years ago.

What had happened since those glorious times? Why was she now weakening so easily at times, but capable of working herself into a fury at others? As she glanced about, she realised that her staff was no longer by her side...

For TAOWolf

Its eyes meet hers. The Alpha stands beyond her fiery protection its dead eyes glowing with the red malice of reflected flame. It moves neither to attack nor to flee. Its eyes simply meet hers and exchange a knowing and hateful gaze. With a snarl at the woman whose own movements are tied to the protections she has summoned for the others it turns, then, bounding away into the darkness, its howl echoing across the broken wastes of this place.

I am back on this morning....could not post last night when I wanted to...but now it is time to spread a little sunshine...it appears that everyone is safe so that I do not harm my own...thus...

Ana

She heard the dragon scream “NOW!” and assumed that he and Wyrd were safe from this blast to come.

OOC>>>In the space of time it takes for her to say the following is the time it took from the word “now” to the blast of sunlight, thus giving our heroes the sufficient time needed to have made their moves after Arcades gave the ok.

"Lady Ahurani! I give myself over to this power that through me a great good will be done in thy name! Through me, I ask that thy Divine Touch be invoked that the powers of the Sun will win the day and destroy this weak darkness that has taken hold of our Beloved Forums!

IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE!

IN BEHALF FRIENDSHIPS LOST!

FOR ALL OF IRONWORKS' MEMBERS!

MAY THE LIGHT OF DAY SHINE UPON THIS HOLLOW AND VANQUISH MY ENEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"AAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIHHHhhhhhhhh..............."

.
.
.
.
The elf that was now enveloped within the sun on earth finally reached the point of unleashing the tremendous powers that had enveloped her body. The rush of light into the ravine hole was as if pouring molten gold. For a few seconds, one would wonder if the very Sun itself had been laid to rest at this very spot. In fact, in ages to follow, many would recount the day that the sun in the sky dimmed as though it had been drained of it's radiance for a few seconds.

Light makes no sound as it shines, so the attack was a silent one, but the result of the silent strike yielded many screams of pain and torment, including those from the elf girl that unleashed this power, for never had she been trained to accomplish what she had just done. It left it's mark on her, to be sure.

The Ravine

Out of the desperate gasps of prayer come light, silent and burning into the darkness of this place. More than sunlight, however, is this light for something of the life of the woman through whom it passes moves within it. Together then, life and light burst forward and for an instant all is as if the sun itself had made its home here at the bottom of the ravine. The grasping Hunger is met by the onrushing light borne forward on the life that it seeks. Willingly light and life enter the grasping emptiness even as they strike newly uncovered soil wherein the Hunger lies. Elsewhere there is a shrill howling of mournful notes of pain and the scent of rotted flesh burning away to nothing. At the base of the ravine, however, all is silent within the terrible radiance of unfiltered sun. Dark things that had moved once more into this place with the passing of the storms perish in the silent fire of the light. Even shielded eyes are burned, so bright is the light, a light that penetrates all shadow and allows no corner for darkness to shield itself. Unending it seems to be this shining of the light, but that is not so for its shining forth is intensely brief and intensely violent with the violence of light against darkness. Soon it passes, this terrible radiance that has brought such stunning daylight to this darkest of places and in its passing the darkness that meets the eyes seems greater even than before.

All, however, is not as it was, for an emptiness great and terrible has been purged from this place and a grasping appetite has been destroyed.

ooc: The Hunger is destroyed as was the banewolf.

Ana - You have lost 2 points of constitution and have expended all spell levels. Needless to say you are also exhausted to the point of collapsing.

Ruby, Wyrd and Arcades - Some eye damage is unavoidable. magical and psychic healing should restore basic sight in short order and a few days’ time will return the rest.

In the ravine, guarded and covered by the hills, a great burst of light exploded, the flash was momentarily blinding, but from the distance he was at it wouldn't do permantent harm. Nearly a minute later he heard the cries, a death cry of some beast, likely a wolf of some sort, and emptiness, as though the Hunger that stalked these lands had devoured the sound of the explosion.

If his former allies had caused that, they would likely be weakened, and ripe for the plucking, if the blast had been directed against them, there would likely be nothing left of them, or their equipment. Decisions decisions, Sithas had told him his journey lie to the north, where he could rebuild his former Order, and set up a base of operations, one that would draw all manner of dark servants. He debated letting his curiosity hold sway and go to investigate the blast, and eliminate any survivors, but there was likely to be little left, and the land could be very hostile after an attack like that.

And so He set out, travelling northward, over the mountains, and out of this game, plots and plans whirling about his mind, with an empire to form and a world to dominate he would be busy for quite some time. Stopping at the ancient vaults of planetadnd he scribed the "evil overlord list" to ensure that his plans would go unspoilt by potential heroes.

For a long time, the dragon lays at the bottom of the ravine, his eyes blinded even as he shielded himself with his wing. He begins feeling around to try and find his way back up and out of this place and back to Kaylisa.

After several tries of climbing blindly out and falling back in, Arcades lays down on the ground, and waits for some of his sight to return

As Anarrima managed to be the conductor of such a violent rage of magicial force, she nevertheless yielded to the call of sleep that overtook her now as the last of the sunlight spell was drained from her finger tips. She collapses to the ground, suffering from heat exaustion and overtaxed body and mind that was required to deliver the spell to it's recipient.

The Tower

There had been a great apprehensiveness about the giants with the sudden emergence of the storms near the ravine. The storms were small, however, and lacking the fury of that great storm whose rains had nearly ended their lives in the flooded tunnels below the forums. And so initial uncertainty gives way rapidly to the stern and collected resolve that characterizes their manner. That the Hunger rages now is quite clear and with the destruction of the tunnel the way to closing it off once more is lost for the time being. Such things matter little for the moment, for the work of securing this location takes precedence. Much has already been done and even the brackish waters of the moat are less choked with rubble and bones. Reports have come forward from the dwarves several damaged chambers below the surface might be made ready for use sooner than had been expected. Even as the great flare of light shines in the distant ravine the moldering remains of the fallen bonespawn have been dragged from the ruins and ruthlessly broken apart to be stored as the components of magical rituals yet to be performed.

The silence that follows upon the flaring of the light heralds the destruction of the Hunger and Terrakis splits one of the great stones of the fallen tower with a sudden and angry blow. Death is heavy in his gaze as he glances toward the captives. This gaze is quickly turned to other matters, however, at the call of Tyresias, “Come, great Terrakis, for what has been sought lies here buried beneath these stones.”

His eyes burn with excitement for bitter though the loss of the Hunger may be greater still is the prize that lies now so near to his grasp, a prize neither he nor his fellows had dared even to dream would one day be theirs until their triumph over all who stood against them beneath the Forums had made this movement to the surface possible. Even upon seizing this site which is theirs by right as his heirs the thought that such a thing as this actually be present was a thought best left unspoken and not indulged until such a time as this when evidence finally speaks of more than mere possibility. “To my side, brothers,” the great giant calls. “Come! Quickly now! Let us move these stones ......” Together they labor shifting with a surprising delicacy great blocks of stone as if concerned about damaging both the stones themselves as well as what may lie beneath them.

"Rhianneth! Can you not hear me? We have to get out of this! Did you not see the look in that Giant's eyes? He is giong to kill us the minute they stop playing with those rocks! Your the mighty sorcerous here! Do something!

Rhianneth?!! Are you even listening? Rhianneth! Wake up! Rhianneth we have to get free!"

When humans sense the end, some become quite panicked and fight with ferocious urgency to escape the inevitable. Always holding on to that last speck of hope that a way out will be shown before it is too late. It is the automated response of Fight or Flight, when the adrenaline rushes through the system, preparing the human for the most basic and ancient reactions in man and beast alike.
