"It was hard at first, but I have chosen to follow the path of Mystra since that day. So his death, although tragic and saddening, did have some positive side effects."
Andurel gets a far away look in his eyes for a moment, but he comes back quickly. "But let's not talk of the past tonight. Let us talk of the present, the future. What goes on here currently and are there any people I can help with my healing arts?" |

Pandaros Pandaros thanked the nurse for her help. He strapped his quiver to his thigh and then found a tree to lean against for support. His bow hung loose in his left hand as he watched the characters near the inn. "Hmm, things look like they've calmed down." Pandaros tapped his bow absently against his leg while his free hand rested on the bandages clinging to his side. He relaxed against the tree as his eyes remained locked on the action near the inn. |

Sever
No sooner had Sever asked the guards about Pandaros' condition did he spot the injured rogue leaning next to a tree in the town garden. The expression Pandaros wore indicated that he was ready should any action erupt from the inn. Sever caught the gaze of Pandaros and offered a nod of acknowledgement. Sever then turned back to Karl, Sam and the commanding officer. "Well, i'm ready. If you've nothing to add, i'll run along and do that thing i do." |

For Sever, Pandaros, Milanthir, and the three guards:
Karl looked back to see what Sever was nodding at, and saw the one he called Pandaros. Another newcomer to town that was offering some help with his expertise with a bow, seeing that the town was low on law enforcement at the moment. All three guards felt bad about it, especially for Sever who had rushed into a burning building to rescue a child which sparked off this entire story that led to the discovery of an escaped convict and his jail-breaking magic-wielder...which had now finally come to this last spot in town where the two criminals were most likely hiding...being confirmed by the magic of a drunk, washed-up old mage...but still the feeling that he was right this time was in the air. They did not want to risk the lives of these two visitors, especially one such as Sever who had proved his worth and valor by saving the kid...but they had no choice. Nobody was able to really handle magic in this town except the hasbeen mage...and right now he was more concerned with drinking away his woes. There was that elf Milanthir who claimed to work magic...but the guards could not obligate the elf to help with their town's problems. They had just released him from custody just a few moments ago, and the guy was probably still angry at being detained anyway. Why would he help them? They were decided then that Sever's so-called unique ability to sneak about undetected was the best way to go for now. They needed to know if the criminals were indeed hiding in the Inn, and exactly where. Guard Captin: "Alright, you can go in, scout about, and come back to report. Do not engage the enemy alone. Just find out where they are, if there are any traps, and how they seemed to be preparing for any kind of defense against us." Karl: "Just...come back, okay? Be careful in there. If you get into a bind, make sure you make enough noise for us to hear you so we can come in." Sam: "Good luck in there, fella." Sam and the guard captin left the area of the front of the building and each took his way around the sides of the Inn to secure the perimeter. OOC>>>Milanthir and Pandaros: You two can post as you see fit, just to keep up in the action. [ 03-28-2006, 09:06 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ]

Oley, not as think as you drunk he is.
The mage thought a moment and looked at Vindson, then down at his bad leg raising one eyebrow in a silent question. "There's always the hospice on the opposite side of the town sqaure. There was a bit of a fire this morning and some people may still need tending to there, there is also a couple of guardsmen and some local celebrities trying to be adventurers looking for some escaped prisoner and his accomplice, that apparently set the fire, I'm sure they could use an extra hand, or someone with the ability to close a wound without a needle and waxed thread." Oley fell silent for a moment, then appeared startled at the beverage on the table next to him. He took long pull from the shot, draining it completely and then slammed the glass down. |

Sever
Given the short while of relative calm after the previous mishaps, Sever was afforded an opportunity to rethink his approach of the inn situation. His thoughts about the innkeeper in particular had changed. Although the man had acted perfectly reasonably in turning Sever away, something about the manner in which he did so didn't ring true with Sever's practiced sixth sense. All Hells appeared to have broken loose and the innkeeper's actions didn't quite fit the profile. At least that's what Sever thought. It was entirely possible that the man wasn't hiding anything. But Sever wasn't about to risk it. A discreet entry would be "the go". Moving around to the South wall of the inn, Sever made sure to keep himself as hidden from window view as he could manage in daylight. All the while examining each window for signs of a possible easy entry. In this manner, he methodically surveyed the perimeter of the inn. |

Oley, maybe he is as think as you drunk he is
Oley began to stand, his old bones protesting every movement. "Aye, a warehouse caught this morning, the arsonist is, or was a few minutes ago, somewhere near the inn, just to the south." Oley led Andurel to the entrance and pointed at the building next door next to the wall, then he pointed across the courtyard where the hospital, such as it was, was located. He raised an eyebrow at seeing Pandaros laying down on the job and began muttering about the lack of work ethic in todays youth. |

"Thanks my friend. Now I must go and help as I can." Andurel walks to the hospital.

This game really needs to pick up. Let's see how this goes.
For Sever Sever surveyed the permiter of the Inn, walking around the grounds outside the exterior walls, thinking and planning. His quick eyes noted something out of place. Apparently, at least one person had come this way recently, but that did not tell enough to mean anything important. However, what he finally found in the small area of space between the outer wall of the Inn and the town's security wall was worth quite a bit of interest. The ground that he was looking at right in front of him seemed displaced in some way, but not so much that a normal person would have noticed or cared. It was an old thieving trick to disguise doorways in the ground by covering them with dirt and grass or other rubbish, and a doorway was what he was now looking at. It had been used recently, from the look of it. Again, a thief could see what a normal person would not. Why else hide a door unless there is something that the door itself is hiding? Sever looked up and around, and realized that there was no way anyone could spy out this back alleyway from any vantage point. Whoever wanted to hide and remain secret...this seemed to be the best place in town to do so. Now there was an important question. Did this doorway lead to the basement of the Inn, or a tunnel which led under the wall and out of this town to freedom?
