The various priestesses looked at the objects, and each in turn shook their heads. Finally, the one from the torture room and the tratiors spoke, "Mistress, I... there seems to be something blocking our magicks, we cannot see with this gem. I.. I think it is activated by blood, but whoms, I cannot say. I know it is not drow or elven, maybe an enemies heart would activate it..." she suggested thoughtfully. The other priestesses nodded in agreement.

"An enemies heart, you say? I think a betrayer more than counts as an enemy." She pointed at a priestess, "You remember the male who snarled at the other in the torture chamber. Bring me his heart, and we will see."

The priestess who had looked sulky at the fact Alliene wouldn't torture the tratiors personally replied "Yes Mistress!" And set off at a dead run. Had she been thinking, she'd have sent a guard, but Alliene didn't look particually... well, more annoyed then usual. She returned a couple of moments later, the heart in tow. "Here Mistress!" she said, and handed the heart to her. It was wrapped in a cloth.

Alliene took the heart and set it with the rest of the components. She raised an eyebrow, "Well, you know I am no priestess. What next?"

"Mistress..." the priestess began, "We do not use compounants, all our spells come from our goddess, it is the mages who use them..." she whispered, "You are the one who has the most experience... perhaps, we could pray, and ask our mistress to aid you?" she asked.

Alliene scowled, then humphed, "Shar may help us. Let us pray, and we shall see." Alliene and the priestesses closed their eyes, becoming linked in their prayer. They soon felt the benign presence in their minds.
"Why, my Chosen, I was beginning to worry you had forgotten about Me." Her laughter was sweet, "Do you need help with this gem, my daughter? Here is what you must do: The stone of flame must be placed in what your enemies need to survive, and thereupon placed in the disciple of the Tyantess and set on stone. The gem of fire requires fire to unlock its secret. Good luck, my Chosen." The presence faded, and Alliene immediatley set to work. She drove two fingers into the heart of the betrayer, then picked up the gem and dropped it in. She moved the heart to a stone pedastal that stood infront of the statue of Shar and gathered her priestesses.
"Get over here. Cast flame strike on the heart, all of you. By Shar, if you miss and strike the statue, you will regret it."

The five assembled priestesses nodded. "Mistress ,we are ready." Spoke the lead priestess. They began the ritual. Five flamestrikes struck the heart instantaneously, melting the heart, and fusing it's blackened form with the gem, and a second after, Alliene cast cone of cold, freezing and preserving it, just before the gem exploded...

Alliene stared at it, "Was that supposed to happen?" She asked, her tone dangerous.

Alliene shot her priestesses dirty looks and stalked to the heart, plucking the gem out. She quickly tossed it into the spider and closed it, turning the thing right side up.

An image popped out of the spider's eigh eyes suddenly, hovering among the gathered females. It showed a rather large kua-toa, probably some kind of leader, speaking with someone. The image swiveled, and they saw it was a drow. Alliene growled,
"Anyone recognize that drow?"
